AMY’S™ ASTRONOMY WORKSHOP
SHOOTING STARS
Shooting Stars are really very small meteors that get caught in Earth’s gravity and are pulled toward the planet’s surface. They encounter a lot of friction on their way down. This causes them to heat up and eventually break apart. When they heat up, they give off a trail of light that makes them look like a star shooting across the sky.
