Zordon I Shrunk The Rangers Part I

Miss Applebee stands at the front of the class. Bulk, Skull, Kimberly, Billy and Aiesha are among the students.

Miss Applebee

Alright class, we're about to kick off our "Feed the Hungry" week. I'd like to take this opportunity to find out what each of you have chosen to do.

Kimberly raises her hand.

Miss Applebee

Kimberly?

Kimberly

Tommy and I and some other kids are sponsoring a dinner with Ernie at the Youth Center. We still need volunteers if anyone's interested.

Miss Applebee

Excellent! I'm sure there will be a lot of people willing to help...Isn't that right Bulk?!

The camera pans to where Bulk and Skull sit looking through a comic book.

Miss Applebee

Bulk!

Bulk

Huh?...Right....The answer to that question is....Columbus sailed on the Pinto Bean!

Skull

He did?

Miss Applebee

Never mind, I'll deal with you two later...Billy, how about you?

Billy

Uh well, Aiesha and I are working on an invention that might help the fight against world hunger...it's not quite done yet...

Aiesha

But it will be soon!

Miss Applebee

I'm looking forward to seeing this invention.

Billy and Aiesha stand working on a strange looking device.

Billy

Well, I think it's time for a demonstration!

Aiesha

This is so exciting! Imagine, a machine that can actually make things larger. We could feed a whole family with one tomato! The whole town with one pumpkin! The whole state with...

Billy

(interrupting)

Let's just see if it works first.

Aiesha

Sorry, guess I get a little over excited sometimes.

Billy

Just a little.

Billy places a small pickle in front of the machine.

Rita pulls back from her Repulsa Scope.

Rita

How enchanting! Billy the brain has come up with a way to make things grow!

Lord Zedd

(bored)

Who cares, we've been doing that for centuries my little beetle blossom!

Rita

Ah, but if I send down Finster to rework that cheesy device and reverse the action so it will shrink...

Lord Zedd

Yes?

Rita

Hot diggity dog! Zedd honey, I'm gonna shrink the Rangers!!!

She cackles in evil delight.

Billy and Aiesha stand facing the machine wearing protective goggles.

Billy

Here's to ending world hunger.

Aiesha

I've got my fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Aiesha crosses her eyes as Billy laughs and flips the lever. A bright light shoots from the device and swathes the pickle. Slowly the pickle begins to grow to gigantic portions.

Billy

Whoa! Stop!

Aiesha

What's wrong?! This is great!

Billy

You don't understand...By my calculations...the nutrients in the pickle will be lost if it grows too big!

Billy switches off the lever and pokes around in the motor of the device.

Billy

I think it needs some minor adjustments...a calibrated spark receiver should do the trick.

Aiesha

A what?

Billy

Never mind, we can pick one up at the Angel Grove Electronics shop.

Aiesha

We have to stop by the Youth Center first. Remember, we promised to give Kimberly and the others a hand.

Billy

Right.

The two exit.

The room is filled as kids decorate and ready the Youth Center for the dinner. Kimberly, Tommy, Adam and Rocky are setting up tables and chairs. Ernie walks by with a huge basket of fruit.

Ernie

What do you think? An edible centerpiece.

Kimberly

It's beautiful.

Tommy

Thanks for volunteering to help out Ernie. We couldn't of done this with out you.

Ernie

Homelessness is a serious problem...I just wish there was more I could do.

Adam

Hey, you're doing something and that's what counts.

Rocky

You got that right.

Ernie sets down the basket in the center of the table and moves toward the Juice Bar where he encounters Bulk and Skull sampling the platters of food on the counter.

Ernie

Guys, I believe you're supposed to be back in the kitchen washing pots and pans, not eating the food.

Skull

(mouth full)

We were just testing it!

Bulk

Yeah, wanted to make sure there wasn't too much salt on it.

The camera pans to Billy and Aiesha entering. They walk to the juice bar where Rocky and Kimberly join them.

Kimberly

(handing them a table cloth)

Good, you're here. Let's get these tables set.

Rocky

How's the invention going?

Aiesha

That thing is so amazing! We took a measly little old pickle and turned it into the giant of all dills!

Billy

It just needs some minor adjustments to refine the process.

Kimberly

We'd better get back to work. You can fill me in between the plates and forks.

Rocky, Kimberly, Billy and Aiesha head toward the tables. Bulk and Skull exchange sly looks.

Bulk

Did you hear that Skull? Billy's machine makes things grow. Imagine the possibilities!

Skull

Yeah!!! We could use it to find the Power Rangers.

Bulk

No dimwit! Forget the Power Rangers! I'm sick of them. Think what that thing could do to a pizza!

Skull

Hey! Maybe it could even make my allowance grow!

Bulk

I think a little visit to Billy's lab is in order!

Skull

Let's blow this wing ding.

The two scoot out.

Lord Zedd

How do I loathe thee,...let me count the ways...

Rita

Alright, alright! Enough of this!

She faces the camera.

Rita

I gave him too much of that potion! (To Zedd) Let's send Finster down to get that device! You can read me poetry when we've shrunk the Rangers Zeddipoo!

Goldar

We don't need some hare brained human's device for that. Lord Zedd shrunk you,...remember!

Lord Zedd

Unfortunately my shrinking powers only work on those who are truly evil. Yes, we shall send Finster down to reverse the mechanisms and bring the device to us!

Rita

And then, we'll use it against them...FINSTER! Get you're termite ridden hide in here!

Bulk and Skull sneak into the lab and stand looking around in confusion at all the gadgets and gizmos. Skull scratches his head and reaches out to fiddle with an odd looking device.

Skull

Hey, I wonder what this doohickey is.

He receives a jolt of electricity making his hair stand on end.

Skull

OW!!!!

Bulk

Don't touch anything! That devices has gotta be around here somewhere.

Skull looks down at something and begins to tap Bulk on the shoulder.

Skull

Uh Bulk...

Bulk

Quiet! I'm trying to think here.

Skull

Bulk...

Bulk

Stop it!

Skull

But, Bulky...

Bulk

WHAT?!

As Bulk yells he steps back and trips over the giant pickle.

Skull

That's what.

Bulk grabs the pickle and looks at it in awe.

Bulk

That little nerd dip really did it! We're gonna be rich!

Skull walks to the device and whispers.

Skull

I think this is it.

Bulk scrambles up.

Bulk

Don't touch it,...Let me carry it!

Skull

Think I could take that pickle along for a snack?

Bulk heads to the door.

Bulk

No!

Skull follows.

Skull

(whining)

But Bulky, I'm hungry!

The two exit. A beat later Finster appears and looks around in confusion He too moves to the same strange device and receives a jolt of electricity.

Finster

Oh flibbergidget! There oughta be a warning on that.

We leave him poking around the lab.

Bulk and Skull walk down an alley.

Skull

Come on Bulk, let me carry it!

Bulk

Nothin doing! I don't trust you.

They come upon a homeless man sitting against the wall by his empty shopping cart. They both stop.

Skull

Hey Bulk,...he doesn't have anything in his cart.

Bulk

He looks hungry too.

Skull

We should tell him about the dinner their having over at the Youth Center.

Bulk and Skull approach the man.

Bulk

Excuse me, sir?

Homeless Man

Can I help you Sonny?

Bulk

Well, actually...we wondered if you knew about the big dinner over at the Youth Center.

Homeless Man

I'm afraid I'm a little down on my luck,...I don't think I could afford it.

Skull

Oh no, it's free....all you can eat.

Homeless Man

All you can eat huh,...well,...maybe I should check it out.

The man struggles to rise. Bulk, seeing that he's having a hard time hands the device to Skull and helps the man.

Homeless Man

Thanks.

Skull fidgets with the device. Accidentally he pushes a lever and a bolt of bright light shoots out and enfolds the shopping cart. Bulk, Skull and the Homeless man jump back with a cry. Before their eyes the man's shopping cart grows enormous.

Homeless Man

My cart! What have you done to my cart!

Skull

It worked! It worked!

Bulk

Don't worry about your cart Mister, I heard there was going to be a lot of left overs at the dinner.

Homeless Man

I better get going then! Thanks for your help.

Skull

Bye!

The man pushes the cart down the alley. Bulk and Skull take off in the other direction. Skull laughing happily

Rita stands before Finster shaking her fist. Lord Zedd stands at the balcony.

Rita

You little worm rotted hunk of wood! What do you mean you couldn't find it?!

Finster

Oh your Evilness, please forgive me! I looked and looked but there was nothing there that matched the device's description.

Rita

I'll banish you for this!

The camera pans to Lord Zedd.

LORD ZEDD'S P.O.V. - Shot of Bulk and Skull bumbling through the park with the device.

Lord Zedd

No need to banish the little earwig my cranky crab apple.

Rita

What do you mean?! Are you going soft on me?

Lord Zedd

Of course not! I've merely managed to locate the two bumbling buffoons who are in possession of the device.

Rita

Yipee! Send down the putties Zeddster!

Finster

Oh thank you, thank you....

Bulk and Skull are walking through the park.

Skull

Let's do it again Bulk! Let's make something else grow!

Bulk

Look, we don't want to use up the batteries or whatever this thing runs on. Let's wait til we get to the pizza stand.

Suddenly a group of putties arrive and surround them.

Skull

Bbbbbbulk....what ever you do....don't make them grow!

Bulk

Run!

The two take off with the putties chasing them in circles.

Alpha runs to the Viewing Globe and waves his hands in distress.

Alpha

Aye yai yai!

SHOT OF: Bulk and Skull being chased by putties.

Zordon

What is it Alpha?

Alpha

Bulk and Skull are being chased by putties.

Zordon

Contact the Rangers! But, tell them they must morph in order to protect their identities!

Alpha

Right Zordon!

The six Rangers are putting the final touches on the table when they get the call. They exchange looks and pull to the side.

Tommy

We read you Alpha.

Alpha

(o.c.)

Rangers, Bulk and Skull are surrounded by putties in the park. You must morph there in order to protect your identities.

Adam

We're on it!

Rocky

Outside!

The six run out.

The six run out and move to a secluded area. They look around.

Aiesha

All clear.

Billy

Let's do it!

Tommy

It's Morphin time!

The six go in to the morphing sequence.

The six Rangers land in the middle of the puttie pack and being to battle. Bulk and Skull stare with mouths agape.

Bulk

The Power Rangers!

Skull

See Bulk! I told you this device would help us find the Power Rangers.

Suddenly a puttie goes flying by them almost knocking them flat.

White Ranger

Stand clear guys!

Bulk

Yes sir, Mr. Power Rangers sir!

Bulk and Skull move out of fighting range as the battle continues.

Lord Zedd sits focusing his laser vision. Rita stands at the balcony while Goldar sits lolling on the stairs.

LORD ZEDD'S P.O.V. - Shot of the Rangers battling the putties with Bulk and Skull cheering on the side lines.

Lord Zedd

Ducky doo,...just thought you'd like to know...the Power Rangers are now in the park fighting the putties.

Rita shrieks and scurries over to Lord Zedd.

Rita

Alright!! Zedd, don't you think it's time Goldar earned his keep around here?

Goldar

Hey! I resent that!

Rita

Silence monkey bait! I want you to go down there and get that device for me!

Goldar

I don't take orders from you, I take orders from Lord Zedd only....Besides, it's my day off and I've got a date with Scorpina.

Lord Zedd

You dare to defy your Queen in my presence!!!

Rita

Thatta boy Zeddie! He can just take that silly simp Scorpina with him!

Lord Zedd

You will go now or suffer the consequences of my wrath!!!

Rita

I don't think you want to do that Goldie locks!

Goldar

(bowing)

I will obey sire.

The puttie fight is in full swing when Goldar and Scorpina arrive on the scene.

Scorpina

Some date, Goldumb! You could of at least gotten the keys to the Serpentera!

Goldar

Females!

Bulk and Skull stand at the side as the puttie fight continues. They catch sight of Goldar and Scorpina advancing.

Bulk

Uh...uh...I think I hear my mother calling!

Skull

Right! I think I hear your mother calling too!

Goldar runs toward them. The Rangers take notice.

Goldar

Give me that device you miserable excuse for a human!!

Pink Ranger

Leave him alone Goldar!

Bulk

Ahhhhhh!

Bulk drops the device as he and Skull take off screaming. Before Goldar can reach the device the White Ranger intercedes.

White Ranger

Back off tuna can!

Scorpina squares off with the Pink Ranger.

Scorpina

Okay pinkic, let's see what you can really do!

The Rangers battle the putties and Goldar and Scorpina.

Rita and Lord Zedd stand at the balcony observing the battle. Rita throws down her staff as Zedd throws down a magic ball.

Rita & Lord Zedd

Make our mutants grow!!!!

NOTE: Pull old Goldar, Scorpina footage to match fight with Rangers.

Suddenly, Goldar and Scorpina grow to their huge monstrous sizes. The Rangers back up and finish off the last of the putties as they regroup.

Yellow Ranger

Guess what time it is?!

Black Ranger

Come on!

The Rangers go into the Zord calling sequence. They fight Scorpina and Goldar and defeat them.

Red Ranger

Alright!

Blue Ranger

Good work guys!

The Rangers high five and teleport out. The camera zooms in on the discarded device laying on the ground.

The Rangers are busy setting platters of food on the table. A few homeless have started to trickle in. Bulk and Skull's homeless man with his huge shopping cart enters. He notices everyone's stares.

Homeless Man

Two guys with some strange looking device just made it grow! Never seen anything like it in all my born days!!!

Adam

(gently)

Why don't you leave it here and come and sit down. You can keep an eye on it that way.

Homeless Man

Don't mind if I do.

Adam leads the man by Billy who slaps his head in remembrance.

Billy

My device! It must still be in the park! I've gotta go find it!

Aiesha

Why don't Rocky and I go with you!

Rocky

Yeah, that way we can check out the park and make sure there are no homeless people who haven't heard about the dinner.

The three exit.

MONTAGE: Of Billy, Aiesha and Rocky looking through the park. Once or twice we see them talking to a homeless person.

Rita stands looking through her Repulsascope.

RITA'S P.O.V. - Shot of the device lying on the ground.

She pulls back.

Rita

Alright Finster! This is your last chance! I've found the device...go fetch! And take that numskull Goldar with you!!!

Finster

(bowing)

Yes, my Queen.

Billy, Rocky and Aiesha come into the clearing where the device lays.

Billy

There it is!

Aiesha

Finally!

Suddenly Finster appears flanked by two putties and Goldar behind. He stands over the device.

Rocky

Hey you! Don't touch that!

Finster picks it up and quickly whips out a small disk. He inserts it into the back of the machine.

Billy

Wait a minute!!!

Finster

You Rangers have gotten a bit too big for your britches...I think I'll have to take you down a size or two!

Finster flips the lever.

Billy

Get out of the line of fire!!!

The three Rangers try to run for cover but it's too late. They are bathed in a wash of light. Slowly the three Rangers begin to shrink.

Aiesha

What's happening?!!!!

Rocky

Ahhhhhhh!

Billy

We're shrinking!!!!

Rita and Zedd, standing on the balcony, laughing. Rita screams toward earth.

Rita

Hey, Zordon!!!...I shrunk your Rangers!!

The tables are full as the homeless people are gathered eating. The camera shows a few of their dog's eating by their masters from plates on the floor. Kimberly, Tommy and Adam pass platters and refill drinks. Bulk and Skull are also carrying platters of food but sneaking bites here and there.

Adam

Bulk, Skull...Come on guys, save it for the people who really need it.

Skull

We can't help it....that fight with the Power Rangers in the park made us hungry.

Bulk

Yeah, you should of seen us! We were great! Did we tell you how we helped the Power Rangers out?

Tommy

Only about a hundred times.

Kimberly looks worried toward the door.

Kimberly

Guys, I'm getting really worried...what do you think could be keeping Billy and the others?

Billy, Aiesha and Rocky, in their shrunken forms, are battling their way through the tall grass.

Suddenly the ground vibrates with resounding booms.

Aiesha

Oh please don't let that be what I think it is!

Goldar

(o.c.)

Come out come out where ever you are, you puny Ranger ants!

Rocky

Run!

Suddenly Goldar's huge foot enters frame and slowly moves down above them.

Goldar

(o.c.)

This is more fun then squashing roaches! Prepare to be toe jam!

Goldar laughs evilly as the three Rangers cower.

Billy

Help!!!!
