You are here: Where / Universe / Space / Planets / Sol system / Earth / United States of America / California / Angel Grove / Residential/recreational / Contests

    235-ScvH

  • The six teens were known as "the team from Angel Grove High" in the annual "Angel Grove Scavenger Hunt Contest"; they split up into two groups, with Tommy, Adam, and Kim in one and Rocky, Aisha, and Billy in the other.
  • One clue in the scavenger hunt was as follows: "It's the color of a tomato, has wheels, and can travel at great speed. A picture of this is all you need."; it referred to a red sportscar.
  • Another clue was, "It's small but makes a noise that can stop a game; people can also do it just the same."; the answer was a whistle.
  • An additional clue was, "A weapon kings used in the past that hit its target from the sky with a great big blast."; a cannon was the answer.
  • Ernie told the teens that the Central High team was rumored to be on their way back to the Youth Center with all the items.
  • The scavenger hunt contest's central setup was located in the Youth Center.
  • The last clue was, "They're the colors of the rainbow and they fight villains too. Find a picture of them and that will do."
  • The teens, the "team from Angel Grove High," won the scavenger hunt.

  • Several days later, the Angel Grove and Stone Canyon teams (with Angel Grove wearing white and Stone Canyon wearing black) battled for the championship and a $25,000 grand prize for their charity.
  • Jason took Rocky's place on the Angel Grove team.
  • After seven minutes and ten seconds into the competition, the national championship title went to the Angel Grove Little Angel's Haven.
  • Everyone seemed surprised that the Angel Grove team was declared the winner, even though it had been obvious that they had been winning.
  • The announcer for the competition handed Tommy, Adam, and Jason an oversized gold novelty check already made out to the Little Angel's Haven; the bank on the check was Angel Grove National Bank.

    Angel Grove Derby
You are here: Where / Universe / Space / Planets / Sol system / Earth / United States of America / California / Angel Grove / Residential/recreational / Contests

    506-RlyR

  • Justin, driving a blue racer named True Blue, raced against Warren, driving a black racer named Mean Machine, in a trial race for the Angel Grove Derby that was the next day; Warren made Justin crash into a straw wall and ruin his racer.
  • Lt. Stone was the announcer of the soapbox derby and its trial races.
  • Among the racers at the final race were Wild Lightning, Zack Attack, Warren's Mean Machine, Justin's True Blue Two, and Flame Tamer.
  • The winner of the previous year's race had been the Slippery Shark (see "Slippery Shark" monster), and the racer was on display at the derby.
  • The derby was sponsored by "Ernie's Juice Bar."
  • Lt. Stone had brought a smoothie machine to the derby.
  • Justin had to leave the derby on Ranger business just as it was time for all racers to come to the starting line.
  • After the battle with Porto, Justin returned to the derby and managed to race ahead of the out-of-control Warren, and he stopped them both with his brake; it's very implausible that Justin would have been able to race ahead so quickly (or even at all), given Warren's earlier start time and speed boost from the detonator in his racer.
  • The derby was rescheduled to another day after Warren's accident.
  • The chimps began racing in the Slippery Shark too early, and Bulk crashed the racer into the derby's smoothie stand, dumping smoothie all over a pageant winner who had been attending the race and seemed to be a part of the smoothie stand.

    MMPR: The Movie

  • Representing Angel Grove High, the six teens participated in the Angel Grove Jump-a-thon, a skydiving contest.
  • The Jump-a-thon was intended to breathe new life into the old observatory; tickets to see the approaching Ryan's Comet at the observatory were available at the fire department booth.
  • Among the skydiving teams at the Jump-a-thon were Angel Grove High School, Angel Grove Fire Department (having a red banner with orange jumpsuits), Angel Grove Police Department (having a black banner), and Angel Grove Sanitation Department (having a green banner).
  • When five of the six teens had made perfect landings, they tied their team with the previous record; Tommy's sixth, perfect landing won the team a new record.
  • The teens team, representing Angel Grove High, was referred to as the "team from Angel Grove," but all of the teams participating (police department, fire department, etc.) would have been teams from Angel Grove.
