601-FON1

  • Astronema almost always wore a round locket around her neck; on the locket was her symbol, later found all over her weapons and the Dark Fortress; it consisted of a jagged M symbol over a diamond shape.
  • After Red Ranger had gotten away after spying on his meeting, Dark Specter growled that the spy knew his plans and had to be stopped, and after Divatox and Rita had bickered over which of them should go after him, Dark Specter silenced them and told Astronema that she would take the Dark Fortress to destroy the meddler; his emphasis of his selection of her implied that whoever he had chosen would have taken the Dark Fortress.
  • Soon, two Velocifighters pursued Red Ranger but were shortly destroyed.

    602-FON2

  • When a massive hole opened up in the sky above after Astronema had captured the four teens on a planet, Astronema cheerfully left, and powerful blue blasts of energy then shot at the Megaship from above as it swooped down over the teens and Quantrons from the hole in the sky.
  • Later, after the five Rangers had defeated the Quantrons, the Rangers retreated into the Megaship to escape from Velocifighter laser fire, at which point the sphinx ship flew away from the Dark Fortress to attack again.
  • At the time, the Dark Fortress was in front of a wavy multicolored background, perhaps some sort of interdimensional warp.
  • At all times unless otherwise noted, the Dark Fortress, an enormous saucer ship, was half real, and half composed of empty green gridlines which rotated along with the spaceship as it rotated slowly; there would never, however, be any evidence inside the Dark Fortress of any less-than-real areas, with the exception of the large abstract grid area shown in 636-EnWi.
  • The Dark Fortress rippled as the Megaship-sized sphinx ship, quite small compared to the massive mothership, departed.

    603-SOSh

  • The same night as the Megaship entered Earth orbit, the Dark Fortress appeared from a green gleam elsewhere in orbit, where it would spend a great deal of its time.
  • Even when in normal space, the Dark Fortress would consist half of green gridlines.
  • Skull, wondering whether Professor Phenomenus would believe them if they told him about seeing a UFO the previous night, mockingly gave their dialogue as the teens listened: "Professor! Last night we saw an alien spaceship! Round, with big pointy antennas, half invisible, just green lines, really!"
  • After Bulk and Skull had left to find the Professor, Carlos and T.J. knew their description matched the Dark Fortress, at which point Andros stood up, whispering, "Astronema!"
  • While Ecliptor fought the Rangers at NASADA, Astronema ordered for the Astro Megazord Shuttle to be destroyed, and a light blue energy beam shot down from the bottom of the Dark Fortress, destroying large portions of NASADA; this was one of the few times the Dark Fortress would have its bottom, rather than its side, facing the planet.
  • Once the Rangers had escaped in the shuttle, Astronema had the Quantrons change targets and lock the Satellasers on Ecliptor; a green beam then shot to Earth from the side of the Dark Fortress's top section, enlarging Ecliptor.
  • Some time after Ecliptor's defeat, the Dark Fortress swirled into existence in its warp area, but it was in Earth orbit moments later; either the Dark Fortress often winked in and out of existence from the perspective of those outside, or its appearance in the warp area didn't make it any less visible from real space; later evidence would suggest the latter.
  • In Astronema's personal chambers off the main chamber of the Dark Fortress was a strategy table featuring Space Ranger and Quantron figures; Astronema would sit at the table's chair, which had a diamond-shaped back bearing a large version of her emblem.
  • Behind the strategy table was a wall of numerous weapons, including an archer's bow, a shortsword, two Wrath Staves, and a curved boomerang.
  • Planning to use the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles against the Rangers, Astronema had Elgar lock the Satellasers on the New York City sewers, and a purple beam from the side of the top of the Dark Fortress shot into sewer, pulling the five confused Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles up onto the street above.

    605-NvSS

  • The Dark Fortress formed in its warp while Astronema was sleeping.

    606-SatS

  • When Astronema realized that Elgar had lost important data discs, she grabbed Elgar and told him it was time to play with Scrudley; Quantrons covered their eyes as a screaming Elgar was locked into a cell nearby with a monster with two glowing red eyes.

    610-Wasp

  • Often when the Dark Fortress was shown in orbit, the first few frames showed what would have been its swirling into existence.

    611-DDsc

  • The Dark Fortress was near Hercuron even when shown in its warp as the Megaship approached, indicating that the Dark Fortress remained in real space even when shown in the warp.

    612-GrEv

  • If the viewscreen in the main room were regarded as "north," then Astronema's quarters were to the east, with an area with a star chart background wall to the south of the main room; a corridor with an entrance at the end of it was southwest.
  • Astronema's bed, with a monitor control podium (used by Elgar in 603-SOSh) beside it, was in the southern end of Astronema's quarters, with the strategy table and weapons wall in the north side of the room.

    614-BaSt

  • When the Megaship streaked away from presumably the orbit of a jungle planet toward KO-35, Elgar said he'd lost the Megaship, but Ecliptor shoved him aside to track it with the controls.

    619-IOBS

  • After being captured, Ashley was tied with rope to a tree in what looked like the Cirrus Dimension, guarded by Body Switcher.
  • Elgar walked in after calling out to ask where everybody was.
  • After tricking Elgar into releasing her, Ashley (disguised as Astronema) ran away to an unknown destination.

    623-Date

  • In her quarters, Astronema had a vanity mirror to the right of the doorway.

    624-ZhnD

  • While the Dark Fortress was in its warp near Centaur B, Astronema had a course set for Earth.

    628-RLOF

  • When Astronema defected to the Rangers' side, Dark Specter gave Darkonda temporary control of the Dark Fortress until Astronema's eventual return.

    629-DSR1

  • As Dark Specter's enormous asteroid neared Earth, Karone said Dark Specter had sent the asteroid, which meant it had been programmed to hit Earth, in which case she could get on the Dark Fortress and reprogram it.
  • Soon, Astronema radioed to the Megaship from the Dark Fortress with an earpiece microphone, having made it onboard; in the main control room, the center room, she viewed the asteroid's trajectory on a Motion Detection Screen on the viewing screen, with "Asteroid Detection" flashing beside the asteroid display.

    630-DSR2

  • After the asteroid had been redirected by the Megazords, DECA soon announced that the Dark Fortress had been located in quadrant 446.7 behind the planet Vraden; in a monitor, the Dark Fortress, whole rather than half green lines, descended near the jagged surface of a rocky gray world.
  • Andros and Zhane flew through space on their gliders and caught up with a Velocifighter, then surreptitiously leapt onto its back for it to take them to the Dark Fortress.
  • The Dark Fortress, half lines as always unless otherwise noted, was shown forming in its warp, but then was whole and in space when the Velocifighter flew into an open bay area.
  • In the very large cargo bay without any other Velocifighters visible, Quantrons were moving cargo around, and one waved the landing Velocifighter in.
  • The strategy board in Astronema's room also had a blue-haired Astronema figure.
  • The walls in an area somewhere between the control room and the cargo bay had glowing orange polygonal symbols all over them.

    635-SiGo

  • After speaking with Dark Specter on a rocky peak, Astronema entered the Dark Fortress's control room from her quarters, though this order of events could have meant nothing.

    636-EnWi

  • Some time after the Mega Voyager had been stolen through a vortex downtown, Carlos got a scan on the vortex to allow them to follow it, and Andros had them change course in the Megaship to find out where it went.
  • Somewhere, perhaps aboard the Dark Fortress, the Mega Voyager lay in a large black enclosed area: the walls had fine gridlines on them, and along with certain irregular walls and shapes in the area were partial gridline fences sticking up from the floor; the Psychos realized the Rangers would be looking for it at the moment and planned their ambush.
  • Later, when Ecliptor pulled Psycho Red out of battle, he brought him to the black grid area to confront him.

    638-MTSC

  • For a while before they were to be scanned into data cards, a crowd of captives in Secret City was held in a covered outdoor area featuring columns bearing the same yellow and orange symbols as in the Dark Fortress.

    640-IWeb

  • As the Megaship orbited the planet Forza, the Dark Fortress, whole rather than half lines, rose up behind the Megaship, initially glowing with green wisps as though coming out of its warp.
  • The Dark Fortress appeared to be not much larger than the Megaship.

    641-LITS

  • Tankenstein's impressive robot monster form bore strips of green and black circuitry with red and yellow polygons similar to those seen in the Dark Fortress.

    642-CTD1

  • Following Dark Specter's orders to begin the takeover of the universe, Astronema addressed her huge Quantron army in the expansive hangar of the Dark Fortress.
  • Soon, pair after pair of Velocifighters flew from the Dark Fortress (again whole rather than half lines) in a long string of ships.
  • Later, the Dark Fortress remained whole in space, and when it eventually hovered over Angel Grove, it would be whole then as well.

    643-CTD2

  • A blue ray from the underside of the Dark Fortress could beam people from or to the craft.
  • That night, Andros used his Red Battlized Ranger powers to fly to the Dark Fortress, but it wouldn't be until the next morning that the powered-down Red Ranger would enter the ship's control room.
  • The Dark Fortress was half lines again as it was in orbit.
  • Down a hallway on the "west" end of the control room was a fork, with the right (north) path leading toward other parts of the ship, and the left (south) doorway leading into a dark area with the polygonal walls and tightly-packed polygonal columns; Ecliptor called this area the main core room.
  • The aforementioned polygons were actually complex symbols, all glowing orange.
  • After Andros had blasted at columns, steam poured out from the room as an alarm sounded; when Ecliptor and Quantrons rushed in, Andros went out and closed the door, then flipped a lever on the wall to lock it from the outside.
  • During Astronema's struggle with Andros, she ended up stabbing her staff into a loosened mesh metal panel which divided her room from the control room; she then slammed Andros into a control stand, knocking it over with an explosion of sparks.
  • Soon, Astronema fought Andros in her room, then slammed him onto her strategy table and threw him through a different metal mesh wall back into the control room.
  • The Dark Fortress was whole again rather than half lines when the energy wave from Zordon's destruction radiated from it throughout the universe.
  • Soon, the Dark Fortress, presumably piloted by Andros, descended to Angel Grove.
  • Four gold jets of steam came from beneath the Dark Fortress as it continued its descent.
  • Once the ship had landed downtown, it was missing its bottom towers and projections.
  • In the bottom section, beneath a closed side hatch for launching Velocifighters, a smaller hatch and ramp opened up, revealing a glowing blue corridor from which Andros walked holding Astronema.

  • Once the Rangers had escaped in the shuttle, Astronema had the Quantrons change targets and lock the Satellasers on Ecliptor; a green beam then shot to Earth from the side of the Dark Fortress's top section, enlarging Ecliptor as it would do for numerous monsters in the future.

    610-Wasp

  • Despite his apparent destruction by Black Ranger's Lunar Lance, Sting King was revived and enlarged by the Satellasers.

    622-SvSc

  • Despite his apparent destruction by Andros's drill attack, Cassie's Satellite Stunner attack, and Zhane's Super Silverizer slash attack, Praying Mantis was revived and enlarged by the Satellasers.

    638-MTSC

  • Despite his apparent destruction by the Red Battlized Ranger's missiles, Vacsacker was revived and enlarged by the Satellasers.

    641-LITS

  • After Zhane had destroyed Tankenstein, its wreckage was strewn about, but the Satellasers caused the wreckage to pull together, then an outer layer blew off, revealing Tankenstein's robotic monster form, which then grew.
