- sinister bounty hunter and doublecrossing agent of Dark Specter
Years ago on KO-35, when
Andros and Karone
(secretly Astronema's childhood identity)
had been playing in a park as children, a growling figure (actually
Darkonda, but not shown clearly in the video) whisked a screaming Karone away after young Andros had gone after a stray ball.
T.J., Carlos, and Cassie
searched a jungle planet for Zordon after having gotten a distress signal;
meanwhile, Ecliptor was hiding nearby with a
team of Quantrons and a device with an
antenna, which had sent the distress signal as part of his plan to
ambush the Rangers.
Cassie spotted what she
thought was a Piranhatron footprint in
As the three teens
neared Ecliptor's ambush site, Darkonda
warped in with his standard ripple in space, laughing, holding his
sword, as well as a sack over his shoulder.
Suddenly noticing Darkonda, Ecliptor angrily told him, "Darkonda!! I told you never to darken my part
of the galaxy again!"; he replied, "Take it easy, Ecliptor. I just happened to be in the
As Darkonda laughed, his sword blade extended
while glowing blue.
Not believing Darkonda's supposed innocent
intentions, Ecliptor told Darkonda was always
Darkonda said he'd come to see Astronema's newest lackey; the reader will note
that this would have been Elgar.
Taking a swing at Darkonda, Ecliptor told him to stay away from Astronema.
As the three teens
approached, still oblivious to the villains, Ecliptor returned to his ambush; as Ecliptor attacked, Darkonda taunted that he was
predictable and old-fashioned.
Taking out a large pod from his sack as he
watched the three teens fighting the Quantrons, Darkonda said he knew a much faster
way to finish off a Ranger; he then threw
the pod into the air and slashed it in half with his sword, and a Barillian Bug flew out and
stung Carlos on the wrist, a sting which would
very slowly begin transforming him into a Barillian Bug monster.
After the three teens
had retreated during the Quantron attack, Ecliptor was angry that Darkonda had ruined his
plan, but when he turned around, all he saw was the broken pod Darkonda
had left behind.
furious aboard the Dark Fortress, Astronema presumed something drastic had gone
wrong in order for his nerves to get rattled.
Ecliptor reassured Astronema he would finish the job and wouldn't
fail her, but Darkonda then entered, saying he'd failed her already.
The Quantrons were
cautious but not antagonistic in response to Darkonda's uninvited

hand, Darkonda told her they'd met once long ago; she pulled her hand
away and curiously repeated his name but then regained her hostility,
telling him she didn't remember him.
Ecliptor told Astronema that Darkonda was a traitor, a
doublecrossing cheat, and she observed that he seemed to know a lot
Darkonda told Astronema she was wise to distrust strangers
but that one Power Ranger was already

Andros and T.J. ran through the jungle planet looking for the bug to identify it, but
they were confronted by Darkonda, holding another sack over his shoulder
and the dead Barillian Bug
in his hand, saying perhaps he had what they sought.
T.J. and Andros looked at each other, apparently both
equally unfamiliar with Darkonda.
When asked by T.J., Darkonda
said, "Darkonda's my name, and evil's my game."
Laughing, Darkonda streaked off, gliding over the
ground while running at superspeed in quick bursts at different angles,
also warping randomly while zooming.
Soon up in a tree, Darkonda cut open another pod,
and a Barillian Bug pursued
morphed T.J. until Andros
shot it down.
Andros explained to T.J. that huge swarms of Barillian Bugs had once
attacked KO-35; they had been everywhere,
stinging without warning; in hours, people stung would turn into Barillian Bug monsters.
Their only hope, Andros
said, was an antidote developed by scientists on KO-35, and he and T.J. soon
headed to KO-35 in hopes of finding some antidote
When the Megaship
streaked away and Ecliptor attempted to track
them after shoving Elgar aside, Darkonda,
casually standing at the edge of the control room, said the Rangers had gone after the antidote to the
Barillian sting; Ecliptor insisted there was no antidote, but
Darkonda laughed that there was.
Tracing her finger along Darkonda's body, Astronema asked where this antidote was;
Darkonda pointed out he thought he was unwanted, with which Ecliptor heartily agreed, but Astronema angrily repeated her question.
Darkonda told her the antidote was on KO-35, and that she should be waiting there for the
Rangers; she said it was a fine plan and
had him go to ambush them.
As morphed T.J. and Andros retrieved the antidote from a cabinet in a
hospital on KO-35, Darkonda blasted at them with
a red energy bolt just after T.J. had called Red Ranger "Andros."
Darkonda told the two Rangers they'd never get a chance to use the
Andros told "T.J." to get the antidote back to the ship and he'd
hold Darkonda off; Darkonda told "Blue Ranger" to give him the
antidote, but Andros fought Darkonda as T.J. escaped.
In a lower, darker level, Darkonda beat Andros up, using some violent kicks on him.
Darkonda repeatedly streaked by Andros from various warps in random directions,
striking him with each quick pass.
Once Andros had fallen,
Darkonda elongated his sword and planned to finish him off, but Andros fought back and sent them both flying out
of the building somehow.
Darkonda was surprised when Andros summoned the Battlizer and used it to make his fist glow
with red energy streaks; his successive glowing chop and punch attacks
sent Darkonda flying back, smoking and angry.
When the other Rangers, cured, soon ran up to help Andros, Darkonda was pleased by their timing,
saying they could all watch as he destroyed the last of the antidote,
and he threw down and stomped on a plastic capsule of antidote, but
surely the Rangers still possessed some
antidote, as even if the canister sprayed by T.J.
had had only two doses in it, there had been a second canister in the
case they'd retrieved.
Darkonda pulled out and sliced open another pod,
from which flew a Barillian
Bug which transformed into monster form.
Darkonda enlarged the monster with an orange
energy beam from his hand.
Soon, Astronema was
concerned by the monster's defeat, and Ecliptor gladly offered to get rid of the
"worthless" Darkonda at once; when Darkonda entered, Ecliptor declared that he'd failed and wasn't as
valuable as he claimed to be.
Darkonda argued that he'd succeeded, as they'd
won the knowledge that the Red
Ranger was the only true Space
Ranger; separate him from the others, and they'd fall apart.
revelation wasn't much of a revelation, as Astronema had seen the ex-Turbo teens in 602-FON2 before they'd been recruited by Andros, and Ecliptor
had in 603-SOSh called the four Rangers "Earth-grown
nonetheless intrigued by Darkonda's plan, taking him aside for him to
tell her about it.
On the planet Brokaya, the teens secretively set up an interstellar scanner to search
for Zordon much more quickly; Andros then shut the keyboard, and the teens rushed off to return to the Megaship.
Meanwhile, Darkonda, undetected by Carlos's AmScanner, watched from the bushes
nearby and laughed to himself.

On Brokaya as they approached the scanner,
Darkonda wondered what Astronema would think
if he told her the truth about Ecliptor; Ecliptor told him not to, as it would only hurt
her, and Darkonda replied that he wouldn't, as long as Ecliptor did as he said.
Darkonda had them destroy the dish together, with
Darkonda shooting red/orange energy bolts from his eyes (red from his
right eye, orange from his left).
When confronted by the Rangers, Ecliptor
said, "Let's get 'em, traitor," but Darkonda had him go first.
Locking swords with Andros, Ecliptor spoke,
"Ranger, listen!", but Andros, surprised, watched as Darkonda charged and
slashed Ecliptor in the back.
As Ecliptor was
stunned, Darkonda shot out a tentacle from his left arm and latched it
onto Ecliptor's back, making Ecliptor fall to his knees with yellow energy
When Ecliptor asked
Darkonda what he was doing, Darkonda replied, "Something I should've
done long ago. Astronema will think you've
gone down in battle."
Darkonda planned to take Ecliptor's powers, then Astronema's.
Darkonda turned into dual snaking red and yellow
energy streaks which painfully flowed into Ecliptor's back; Ecliptor sparked, then mutated into Darkliptor
while Darkonda's voice was laughing.
Yellow energy bolts randomly shot out of the
smoke cloud around Darkliptor, and he then walked out, holding both
Darkonda's and Ecliptor's swords and laughing
with Darkonda's voice.
Darkliptor was mostly Darkonda's body, but with
Ecliptor's chest underneath, as well as Ecliptor's right arm, the top of his head
surrounding Darkliptor's face, and some portions on his feet and legs.
When shot at by the Astro Blasters, Darkliptor deflected the
lasers with his swords, then shot from the blades' intersection a blue
energy bolt which encased the Yellow and Pink Rangers, the only Rangers not to jump aside, in cages of ice,
frozen solid, with green lines along the outer cracks.
As Darkliptor prepared to slash the fallen Andros, T.J. leapt in the
way, taking the blow to his chest; Darkliptor then struck T.J.'s head with both swords at once, cracking through
his helmet with blue electricity, and T.J. limply
collapsed with a sparking gash in his helmet.
Looking at the three frozen Rangers in a cave, Darkliptor laughed that
he only needed two more to make his collection complete.
entered with Quantrons, seeing the three
frozen Rangers, she angrily asked, "What
have you DONE?!"
Awed to see Darkliptor's unusual form, Astronema asked what he was; he told her that
Ecliptor had attacked him when he'd turned
his back, an accusation which startled Astronema.
Darkliptor told Astronema that, to prevent the Rangers from destroying them both, he'd
captured Ecliptor, but he reassured her that
Ecliptor was safe and tapped his chest,
saying, "in here."
Calling him a curious beast, Astronema wasn't sure whether to call him
Darkonda or Ecliptor, but she then snapped
out of it and was pleased with his capturing of three Rangers, saying he was worth keeping, for

Soon, back on the surface with the three frozen
Rangers, Darkliptor sent a transmission
to the remaining Rangers, telling them to
return and deal with him or he'd destroy their three friends.
Fighting Darkliptor alone, Andros tried to do a glowing flying punch with his
Battlizer but was slashed out of the air;
Darkonda then quickly overpowered him despite his efforts with the Spiral Saber.
Stomping on Andros,
Darkliptor growled at morphed T.J. nearby, "Blue Ranger!"; T.J. held up his hands and yelled, "No! Wait!",
wanting Darkliptor to hold on.
After knocking T.J. down,
Darkliptor laughed for T.J. to hold still, saying
it would all be over quickly, but Andros leapt
in and took the green energy bolt which Darkliptor had slashed from his

remembered their special play: T.J. ran forward
with both the Astro Axe and Spiral Saber, with Andros running in behind him; T.J. threw the weapons into the air, then as
Darkliptor looked up, T.J. shot him with his Astro Blaster, and Andros sprung off T.J.'s
hands, caught the weapons in midair, and slashed Darkliptor with both of
Darkliptor crackled with blue electricity, then
shattered back apart into Darkonda and Ecliptor, who both fell down, and the frozen Rangers unfroze.
Getting up while Ecliptor lay on the ground, Darkonda asked how
this could be, as he was invincible; he then, with Astronema watching from the Dark Fortress, angrily dragged Ecliptor up, saying, "Get up, you weakling! I'm
not through with you yet!" and Astronema
then fired the Satellasers.
Getting behind Ecliptor, Darkonda said they must quickly
rejoin, and the Satellasers
hit them, making a giant Darkliptor.
When the Astro
Delta Megazord's Flying Power Punches flew toward him, Darkliptor
split apart, and Darkonda held Ecliptor in
front of him to take the fall for him.
After the explosion from the impact, the two
normal-sized villains appeared below, with Darkonda saying he wasn't
through yet; Ecliptor, smoking, writhed in
pain before falling over.
After promising to get the Rangers, Darkonda looked at the writhing Ecliptor, calling him pathetic but noting that
Astronema expected him to bring Ecliptor home, and that he had one more use for
him; they then teleported away.
Later, on the Dark
Fortress, Darkonda told Ecliptor to go
ahead and tell Astronema that he'd attacked
Ecliptor, but first he had a few stories of
his own to tell her which would make her throw them both into the
nearest black hole.
threatened, "Not if I destroy you here and now!", Astronema happened to walk in at the moment,
coming to the conclusion that despite her initial doubts, Ecliptor had indeed attacked Darkonda.
When Ecliptor began to
interject, Astronema ordered him to listen
to her, that he would not attack Darkonda; from now on, she said,
Darkonda was his equal, making Darkonda laugh and Ecliptor stew.
Andros dreamt of
confronting Darkonda in a forest while morphed, perhaps recalling an
actual confrontation, or merely imagining it.
In the dream, Andros
asked Darkonda who he was, and he replied, "I'm hurt that you don't
remember me," explaining that they'd met a long time ago.
His chest smoking, Darkonda fired red energy
beams from the horns on his head, and Andros
ran forward to confront him but suddenly woke up.
The video of Karone's kidnapping now clearly showed Darkonda's
back as he carried Karone away, with his laugh
Recognizing the laugh, Andros looked at the viewscreen and realized
Darkonda had kidnapped Karone.
Following this realization, Andros secretly went to Onyx, a planet in a
prohibited sector, where many different villains
gathered for recreation in an Old West town setting.
At the bar of the Onyx
Tavern, Darkonda teased an ant monster that
he looked just like his aunt, not amusing the ant.
Darkonda went upstairs; down the hallway above
was a "Bottled Drinks" sign, and Darkonda went past that and knocked on
a door beside a "Rooms" door.
An aged elven fellow opened the door a crack and
apologized that they were closed, but Darkonda forced his way in and
picked up the elf, ordering that he give him a vial of strength potion.
The elf scurried into the back to look while
Darkonda waited outside.
Speaking with Ecliptor
in the back, the elf told him to hurry, or Darkonda would destroy him;
Ecliptor gave him a vial of red liquid to
give Darkonda, then picked up the elf and insisted he'd never been
Hearing something, Darkonda approached the door,
and as the elf returned with the vial, Darkonda looked inside, but Ecliptor had stepped back into the shadows;
Darkonda then took the vial and left.
At a table below, Darkonda joined a card game
after one player had gotten up and left.
Darkonda put down a blue gem and told the dealer
to deal, but a cloaked Andros then joined the
When asked by Skygantor who he was, Andros, speaking in a low throaty voice, replied
he was just a traveler, and Darkonda agreed, "Aren't we all," and had
the dealer deal.
As the dealer dealt, Darkonda took out a wad of
necklaces and jewels to bet with.
Skygantor put down five crystals,
and Andros put down five more; the
silver-masked player put in a necklace, and Darkonda added a pearl
When Skygantor took out five black keycards to bet with, the dealer
yelled that they were worthless, but Darkonda carefully examined them
with intrigue, asking where he'd gotten them.
Skygantor defensively told the
dealer, "I stole them when we battled on Eltar!"; the dealer was unimpressed.
Skygantor added, "They were Zordon's! They must be worth something!" and
Darkonda agreed, saying the keycards were priceless.
After the dealer had agreed and added his own
money to the pile, Skygantor
showed his hand, three zanabas, but Darkonda topped that with five
Andros laid down his
cards, and upon seeing it was a zinta, Skygantor stood and aimed a large
gun at Andros, telling him, "You cheat!"
Andros kicked Skygantor's legs out from under
him and caught his gun, aiming it back at him; he growled at Skygantor, "You're the one who was
cheating, and you're lucky I'm in a good mood today," then set the gun
on the table and walked over to the bar to look through the keycards, which were the only prize
he'd taken from the table.
Intrigued, Darkonda went up to talk with the
stranger, telling him, "A skilled player and a daring fighter. I like
Darkonda ordered two Onyx
juice specials for the traveler and himself; they raised their cups
together in a toast before drinking.
Darkonda told Andros he
would be willing to pay him handsomely for the keycards, thinking they could be of
no use to a traveler such as him; when Andros
said he needed them to buy information, Darkonda replied that it was his
lucky day, as he had been everywhere and seen everything.
Andros was interested in
finding out whether there was something of value on KO-35, and Darkonda replied that it was in the
Karova system and that he knew it better than anyone; Andros slid him the keycards, saying perhaps they could
make a deal and having Darkonda tell him what he knew.
Darkonda took the keycards quickly and then
frantically counted through them while facing the other way, absently
talking to Andros.
Darkonda described KO-35,
saying, "It has trees, lakes, blue skies, mountains... a quite dreadful
place, really. It's been uninhabited for years."
Darkonda then amusedly whispered to Andros about a little job he'd done before it was
deserted, kidnapping a little girl while she and her little brother were
As Andros crushed his
drink with gloved hands, Darkonda said that he'd already taken anything
that had been of value on KO-35.
Stepping back from the bar, Andros asked what had become of the girl; Darkonda
answered, "Oh, she's alive and well. And you'd never believe where she
is now! She's--" but then spotted the Morpher on Andros's arm as he stood in anger.
Darkonda slashed at the figure, calling him Red Ranger; Andros kicked the sword from Marvo the Meanie's hand and caught
it, then began swordfighting Darkonda.
Darkonda said Andros may know that he'd taken
his sister, but, pulling Andros's hood back,
said he'd destroy Andros before he found out
where she was.
Andros swiped the keycards from up Darkonda's right
"sleeve" and angered him by showing him the keycards, but after shoving Andros back, Darkonda then checked his arm and was
shocked to find the cards missing.
Andros threw his sword
at Darkonda and leapt off the balcony, swinging down off a chandelier,
then ran out and flew off on his Galaxy
Glider after morphing.
Outside, some Quantrons were sitting against the saloon, and
Darkonda ordered them to destroy Red Ranger, but he eventually
Soon, from a plaza in Angel Grove, Darkonda told Red Ranger to bring him the keycards if he wanted to know where
his sister was.
Downtown once the Rangers had arrived, Darkonda demanded the
keycards before he told Andros where his sister was, but the Rangers stood their ground, so Darkonda
drank the superstrength potion, apparently by swallowing the whole vial;
crackling with orange electricity, Darkonda became superstrong.
Darkonda ran toward the Rangers with increasing speed, charging up
with orange and red energy; as energy, Darkonda zipped around the Rangers, making them spark, then bounced
around until landing on a low rooftop.
Darkonda shot energy bolts from his hands (red
from his right hand, orange from his left).
With his sword, Darkonda leapt down and used a
yellow-charged sword to slash each of the Rangers.
Darkonda pulled out a chain and swung it around
as a glowing blue energy whip.
Andros still wouldn't
give up the keycards, so
Darkonda charged up with orange electricity and fired the energy bolts
at the Rangers.
Darkonda suddenly crackled with blue electricity and began to spasm; as
he realized someone must have tampered with the potion, green slime
oozed from all over his body, and he vanished.
When Ashley wondered who
would've poisoned the strength potion, T.J.
guessed, "Probably only half the universe."
Elsewhere, the dripping and agonized Darkonda
staggered through a tunnel or parking garage.
Darkonda swore to destroy whoever had done this
to him, but Ecliptor stepped out and replied,
"Too late, Darkonda. I've already destroyed you!" and teleported away.
After swearing to get Ecliptor, Darkonda grew with yellow energy,
bursting up through the roof of the area in a mutated form with a
seriously altered beastial voice and horns projecting from all over his
Giant Darkonda shot red eyebeams down at the Rangers, then fired a steady beam while
turning, causing a huge circle of explosions in the distance downtown.
Then wielding his shortsword and a sharp piece of
bone perhaps off his body while thrashing around out of control,
Darkonda attacked the Astro Delta
Megazord once it had landed.
Darkonda used his swords to deflect the Astro Delta Megazord's flying power
punches back at the Megazord.

Walking forward, giant Darkonda suddenly sparked,
and a small chunk of his exoskeleton plopped onto the street below, then
transformed with yellow energy into a giant monster with a head shaped a bit like
a squid; it had mouth tentacles and long claw arms.
Darkonda and the spawn shot red beams, Darkonda from
his eyes and the spawn from its
Shortly after getting back up, the Astro Delta Megazord was wrapped up in
Darkonda's chains, then the villains blasted again.
After the Delta Mega
had flown away, leaving the Astro
Megazord alone to fight the villains, Astronema ordered Darkonda from the Dark Fortress to send the monster after the Rangers, and the giant spawn monster then flew into space.
Darkonda was unfamiliar with the Mega Voyager when it landed to confront him
as he approached the defeated Astro

it before he'd rolled aside.
Darkonda wrapped the Mega Voyager up with his chain, but it leapt

The Mega V-3
missile mode destroyed giant Darkonda, his first death shown.
On the Dark
Fortress, Ecliptor was glad Darkonda had
been destroyed, but Elgar doubted it, rambling
about how bad and powerful Darkonda was.
In a mountainous clearing on a planet which was probably Earth, presumably in the present, Darkonda walked
around waiting for his opponent, and Ecliptor
then appeared, walking up in his more recent form.
Darkonda bowed, supposedly with the respect that
Ecliptor deserved, but Ecliptor retorted that Darkonda bowed to no one
As they touched swords confrontationally,
Darkonda said he'd come to ask if Ecliptor
wanted to go into business with him, but as they swordfought briefly, Ecliptor rejected the offer, saying he'd rather
team up with a snake or a scorpion.
Walking off laughing, with a fence in the
background, Darkonda told Ecliptor he was
getting awfully confident with himself lately and that he'd have to
conquer the Earth without him; he then warped
away without telling his "good friend" what he was up to.
The Earth was shown before scenes of Darkonda's lab, but the lab was actually on the
planet Dekata 5.
In his lab as two Crocotox monsters, one red and one
blue, stood in wait, Darkonda mused, "I have many enemies. Ecliptor, the Power
Rangers, they have all tried to destroy me. They have all failed.
Only I have survived (looks into tank), so it is I who will be the next
ruler of the universe!"
In a large tank, numerous white blobs with blue
segments were growing in clear spheres.
Darkonda told Crocotox to go to Earth and spread his toxins, and the red Crocotox flew to Earth to pollute Angel Grove Beach.
After the red Crocotox had been destroyed by the
Rangers, a giant image of Darkonda, in
flames and shown from the waist up, appeared in the sky above the five
Rangers and the unmorphed Zhane.
Darkonda spoke, "Rangers, you'll be busy forever destroying
my army of Crocotox! I have
thousands more where that one came from! Soon the Earth will be mine!"; he then vanished.
Shortly, a red Crocotox was standing guard at the
entrance of a warehouse building in a warehouse area on the planet Dekata 5 when the five Rangers flew in over his head; he noted they
were finally here.
On an upper walkway above, inside the warehouse,
a blue Crocotox fired from his
hand a green energy barrier which trapped the Rangers in a net.
Darkonda walked up, telling the Rangers they were wrong in thinking they
could destroy him.
Darkonda said now that he'd captured the Power Rangers, his army of Crocotoxes would soon conquer the
Earth; looking into the vat of eggs, he said
they were maturing as they spoke, and soon he would be the next ruler of
the universe; with that kind of power, he
said, the possibilities were endless.
Darkonda told the Crocotoxes to destroy the Rangers, at which point the blue Crocotox began blasting at them.
Soon afterward, morphed Zhane sped into the facility riding his Silver Cycle and blasted through
a wall, crashing his way into the lab where Darkonda was.
Startled, Darkonda turned and exclaimed, "The Silver Ranger?!" but then
planned to make him his next experiment.
Zhane proceeded to blast
everything in sight, causing explosions as an outraged Darkonda ducked
aside, and chunks of debris fell into the hatchery vat.
The red Crocotox stumbled up, and Darkonda
told the monster to destroy Silver Ranger; the fight would
then proceed outside.
When the teens went down
to the desert planet Centaur B to
investigate various energy readings, Darkonda, assuming the identity of a Rebel general named Yatru, led a group of KO-35 Rebel soldiers in
capturing the four teens.
Elsewhere, Zhane and Andros had discovered false readings but were
unable to contact the others.
Soon, in a secluded, small cavern in the Rebels' underground base, Yatru spoke with a
hologram of Dark Specter, reporting that
four of the Rangers had been captured but
that two remained; Dark Specter told him
to destroy the four and that Astronema would
tend to the remaining two.
Soon, Yatru presented to leaders Kinwon and Taikwa the
four handcuffed teens, who wore tan flight
suits with Ranger-colored
undershirts and five-square Ranger
badges; Yatru insisted these were the spies responsible for turning
their people into coral.
When T.J. claimed innocence,
Yatru replied that they'd been on the surface with surveillance
equipment, showing Kinwon a confiscated AmScanner.
Kinwon told Yatru to
let them speak, and Carlos insisted they were
merely tracking an energy source; Kinwon
wondered why a search party would come to Centaur B, saying the planet was nothing
but an ill-tempered rock.
T.J. said they were looking
for someone, and when this received only unmoved murmuring from the
crowd of Rebels, Ashley nodded to him, and he declared that they
were Power Rangers; this surprised the people
a bit, at which point Yatru violently pretended to take something from
behind Ashley, a small canister.
Yatru smashed the canister against a wall, and
the liquid inside turned into white foam, which then turned into a
cluster of coral.
Ashley insisted the
canister had been planted, but Yatru declared that they were guilty as
charged and ordered for them to be taken away to be destroyed.
Kinwon argued that this
had not been a trial; Yatru insisted they were destroying their people,
and Taikwa asked Kinwon how much more evidence he needed, but Kinwon insisted that their guilt was not for
Yatru to decide; if they threw out their laws, chaos would reign.
Kinwon told Yatru he
would hold him personally responsible if any of the teens were harmed, and Yatru grudgingly had the teens taken away.
Back in his cavern, Yatru was told by Dark Specter not to fail, and Yatru insisted
it was only a matter of time.
Once the hologram had faded, Kinwon suddenly confronted Yatru, having heard
the conversation and learned that the teens
actually were Power Rangers and Yatru was in
fact the spy.
As Yatru said Kinwon's
discovery would be his own undoing, Coralizer grappled Kinwon from behind and dragged him away.
After the teens had
escaped from their cell and encountered a coralized and barely-conscious
Kinwon, they were confronted by Yatru and
guards, and Yatru declared that they'd gotten Kinwon.
Later, the teens were in
front of an angry mob who all wanted the destruction of the spies.
Yatru ordered for them to be taken to the surface
and destroyed, but the cloaked and masked Zhane
and Andros stormed in and ordered them to be
released; Yatru said they were more spies and told the guards to capture
them, but the two pulled Astro Blasters
and aimed them at the guards.
Andros declared that
they weren't spies, and nor were the four teens; he and Zhane then
removed their masks as he declared they were Power
Rangers, stunning the crowd.
Taikwa knew Andros and Zhane, and Andros was surprised to see her there; she
explained that they had been in hiding since escaping from KO-35.
Yatru insisted that the teens were spies and ordered for them to be
destroyed, but Andros and Zhane again aimed their Astro Blasters at the guards; the guards
were confused and reluctant to act, so Andros
had them lower their Astro Blasters.
Frustrated, Yatru said he'd destroy them himself
if he had to, and Coralizer
As chaos ensued, Yatru retreated but was chased
by Zhane down the tunnels of the compound.
After morphing, Zhane
tackled Yatru, but the general fought back fiercely.
After getting a bit of a pounding, Zhane summoned the Super Silverizer and
delivered a slash to Yatru's chest as the general charged, and he then
morphed into Darkonda with red energy.
Soon, Darkonda was pounding morphed Zhane, and he knocked the Silverizer from Zhane's arm and then slashed him back.
Kinwon threw Zhane his Silverizer, and Zhane slashed Darkonda in the stomach; reeling,
Darkonda declared that he'd be back, then raised his arm triumphantly
and exploded, his second death shown.
Soon, Dark Specter
told Astronema that Coralizer and Darkonda had been
destroyed, but Ecliptor privately doubted the
news of Darkonda's destruction.
One day, morphed Andros
and Darkonda swordfought in a pine forest; Andros shouted that Darkonda had kidnapped his
sister, and Darkonda considered it one of his finest accomplishments.
During a moment of close combat, Andros shoved Darkonda's hand aside to redirect an
energy blast from his hand.
During the fight, Darkonda said that his only
regret was not destroying Andros when he'd
kidnapped his sister.
After catching Darkonda offguard and pinning the
Spiral Saber to his neck, Andros demanded to know where his sister was, but
Darkonda knew he wouldn't destroy him; Andros
then angrily readied the drill to plunge it into Darkonda, but the
snapping of a twig caused by Ecliptor's
spying nearby distracted him, giving Darkonda the chance to vanish.
Hearing Darkonda's laughter in the distance, Andros swore to find Darkonda again, then teleported away to the ship.
Jumping down from a tree and retrieving his lost
sword, Darkonda noted that he would have no peace until he destroyed Red Ranger once and for all, and
he hatched a plan to destroy him.
Darkonda soon planted devices on four trees
surrounding a clearing, then covered up an activator plate in the center
of the clearing.
When Darkonda tossed a rock onto the activator,
four laser beams from the devices converged on the center and made a
large explosion, pleasing Darkonda.
The next day while the Rangers fought Quantrons and Batarax, after Astronema had mysteriously blasted a Quantron attacking Red Ranger as he defended a
family, Darkonda was soon watching from behind a building when Andros caught sight of him, and Darkonda lured him
away by running off.
Darkonda was soon racing into the forest with spurts of streak
teleportation; he was shown running from his perspective, and it seemed
that each footstep was a blur burst.
Luring Andros toward his
trap, Darkonda brought up a proposition as they fought: if Andros could beat him, he'd tell him where his
sister was, but Andros refused before Darkonda
could give the alternative.
Soon seeing the hidden activator plate between
himself and Andros, Darkonda told him his
sister didn't even know he existed, and she wouldn't unless he told Andros more; to get more information, Andros charged forward, right toward the activator
plate, but Ecliptor tackled him aside and
saved his life.
Darkonda was so startled that he stepped forward
onto the activator plate, and the laser beams from the surrounding
devices centered on him and destroyed him in a large explosion, his
A bit later, Andros had
found Astronema's locket and learned that
she was Karone, but she hadn't believed that he
was her brother; in a cavern afterward, Darkonda talked to a Dark Specter hologram, telling him that Red Ranger knew the truth and that
it was only a matter of time before Astronema knew as well, meaning she might
Dark Specter argued
that she would never stray, as his power over her was too strong;
Darkonda bowed and agreed that his power was without parallel, but
feared Ecliptor had tarnished Astronema's evil spirit.
Darkonda elaborated, "You see, he has shown her
caring. Caring and evil do not mix. It could be
an explosive combination!"; Dark Specter
hoped that Darkonda was wrong.
On KO-35 the next day, Astronema walked through a city courtyard,
looking around curiously before Andros
approached and tried to talk with her, but she defensively blasted at
him repeatedly and was gone.
As Andros called after
Karone, a spying Darkonda was pleased, saying
it was working; after Andros had left, Darkonda
was delighted that Andros had gotten to her,
thus causing her to doubt herself and to be torn between good and evil.
Having heard Darkonda's delight, Ecliptor confronted him, saying he was vile and
without honor and that he should have destroyed Darkonda long ago.
Darkonda fought Ecliptor, planning to stop him from getting in
his way; Ecliptor told Darkonda he never
should have returned to this part of the galaxy.
Before attacking, Ecliptor said Astronema would never have to worry about
As Darkonda and Ecliptor swordfought, there were golden glows of
light between their swords.
Darkonda declared that Astronema was falling to pieces and that he
intended to be there to pick them up.
After mutual slashing, with Darkonda blasting as
well, both combatants were exhausted and on the ground; once they were
back up, Darkonda flipped over Ecliptor and
ran, but Ecliptor's eyebeams made several
explosions around him, and he was sent flying off a cliff.
Darkonda warped back up behind Ecliptor and slashed him in the back; Ecliptor gave him his final warning to leave now
and never come back, but Darkonda said the only way he would leave was
if Ecliptor destroyed him.
attacked, Darkonda warped behind him and grappled him, forcefully
merging with yellow energy bolts after Darkonda had said he thought it
was time they got a lot closer.
Darkliptor suddenly clutched his head in pain,
and the two flew apart, weakened; Darkonda was outraged, saying it was
impossible, but Ecliptor explained, "My mind
is strong and disciplined. Yours is weak and unfocused."
Darkonda shouted that Ecliptor and Astronema were the weak ones, but Ecliptor rushed forward and delivered a slash to
Darkonda's stomach which finally destroyed him (his fourth death).
surveyed the flaming hole in the ground and noticed something wasn't
right, as there was no debris, and he furiously realized Darkonda had
probably escaped again.
In his cavern Darkonda used a black marker with a
red orb on the end to paint a black X over the fourth of nine Darkonda
drawings on a scroll.
As Darkonda noted that he only had five lives
yet, Dark Specter's hologram faded in and
remarked that he'd known Astronema would
learn of her past.
Darkonda insisted Astronema couldn't be trusted and had to be
destroyed before she betrayed him, but Dark
Specter told him to hold his tongue, as Astronema had always been loyal; to be safe,
however, he planned to test her.
Darkonda agreed that testing Astronema was an excellent idea, for then Dark Specter would see that he was right; Dark Specter told him he'd better be.
In parting, Darkonda asked if it would be too
much for Dark Specter to destroy Ecliptor for him; Dark
Specter replied, "Begone!" and Darkonda chuckled that it was just an
Exploring the jungle of Yotoba after
crash-landing, the teens were attacked by
Darkonda and a large number of Piranhatrons.
As the Rangers
fought the villains, Ashley had Andros go after Zordon,
but Darkonda blasted the departing Red Ranger in the back.
Darkonda caught a glimpse of Astronema carrying Red Ranger away, causing him to
send Piranhatrons to bring the two to
After Ecliptor had
allowed Astronema and Andros to pass, Darkonda leapt up and viciously
slashed Ecliptor in the back, calling him a
traitor, leaving an enormous robotic slash across the length of Ecliptor's back; he then knocked him down with
another slash to the stomach.
Darkonda said one traitor down and one to go,
then stomped on Ecliptor's back; the Piranhatrons arrived and looked at Ecliptor curiously, then Darkonda had them fan
out and find Astronema and Red Ranger.
After Dark Specter
had appeared in Zordon's tube setup in a
clearing, startling Andros and Astronema, Darkonda and Piranhatrons surrounded the area, having
captured the other four Rangers, and
Darkonda had them sieze Andros.
Andros was horrified,
asking Karone how she could have tricked them,
and Dark Specter was curious as well;
after some contemplation, she evilly said it had been her pleasure.
Darkonda accused Astronema of trying to help the Rangers save Zordon, but she slammed him to the ground with the
end of her staff and nearly
pinned him to the ground, telling him it seemed she had him fooled as
easily as the Rangers.
Once Dark Specter
had vanished, Astronema told Darkonda to
destroy the Rangers, but as he considered
which one to destroy first and then reared back to strike Ashley, Astronema
blasted him in the back, making him twitch and then fall over.
Back up once Astronema had freed the Rangers, Darkonda
prepared to attack the traitor, but Ecliptor,
arriving, blasted him repeatedly with his eyebeams; reeling from the
beams, Darkonda fell and exploded (his fifth death).
Moments later, Darkonda was in the Dark Fortress when Dark Specter told him from the viewscreen
that he would command the Dark Fortress,
but only until Astronema returned, alarming
brought in Ecliptor on a stretcher, Darkonda
grumbled about having only four lives left thanks to Ecliptor; he told Dark
Specter that Astronema and Ecliptor had to be destroyed, but Dark Specter adamantly replied that he had
plans for them and that their loyalties would never stray again.
Darkonda agreed, and once Dark Specter had vanished, he added, "For
now," and had Ecliptor taken away, having
plans of his own.
When Ecliptor trudged
into the main chamber of the Dark
Fortress perhaps the next day, he was quickly attacked by Quantrons who dragged him away while Darkonda
In another room, Ecliptor was restrained to a table, and Darkonda
walked up with a red doctor's light on his forehead, then brought a very
menacing spiked spinning tool close to Ecliptor to give him an "attitude adjustment."
Later, when asked, Darkonda told Dark Specter that the mission was
accomplished, and Ecliptor would never again
forget that his loyalty was only to him, Dark
Dark Specter said
they then must destroy the Rangers and
their precious Earth, as no one kidnapped Astronema without paying the price.
As the Rangers set
up detonation devices on Dark Specter's
enormous asteroid which was headed for Earth,
three Velocifighters overhead blasted
at them, and Quantrons and Darkonda then
devices caused explosions to erupt all over the asteroid, but they
caused no noticeable damage; whether Darkonda was caught in the
explosions is unknown.
sneaked aboard the Dark Fortress, she was
attacked and captured in the empty control room by Ecliptor so she could be brainwashed as well.
Later, as the Rangers attempted to push the asteroid with
the Megazords, Darkonda laughed on the Dark Fortress that today was a fine day for
destruction; beside him, Ecliptor watched
After the asteroid had been redirected by the Megazords, DECA soon
announced that the Dark Fortress had been
located in quadrant 446.7 behind the planet Vraden; in a monitor, the Dark Fortress, whole rather than half green
lines, descended near the jagged surface of a rocky gray world.
In a passageway of the Dark Fortress, Darkonda told Elgar he had to be on his toes: lock the hatches,
put the Quantrons on high alert, as the Rangers could be there any minute after Astronema.
Elgar happily told
Darkonda a Ranger wouldn't step onboard
with trusty Elgar on the job, and Darkonda
replied that he was relying on him.
Confronted by Andros and
Zhane in her quarters, Astronema now had circuitry along the right
side of her face, and her suit had been modified for a more mechanical
look; she still wore her locket.
After Frightwing's destruction, Astronema stood coldly looking at the
viewscreen as Darkonda told her the Silver Ranger and his Mega Winger had tipped the battle in favor of
the Rangers, and he said they needed more
Darkonda's use of the word "we," telling him that she was the princess
of darkness and he was an outcast; she told Ecliptor to throw him out, and Ecliptor grabbed him.
Outraged, Darkonda said that without him she'd be
destroyed, but Astronema aimed her staff at him.
Darkonda reminded Astronema that he still had a few lives left,
but she had only one, then warped away.
Probably months after (639-Ghst, a weak
transmission from Darkonda disguised as an astronaut stranded on the planet Forza came in as he tried to contact NASADA for help; receiving the transmission, the
Rangers flew in to help.
The five Rangers
were then flying over the desert surface of Forza on their Galaxy Gliders; as they came up on the
crash site, they saw nothing.
After luring the Rangers in, Darkonda walked into the Dark Fortress control room as the astronaut
but then morphed into his normal form and told Astronema the Rangers didn't have a clue they were walking
into their ("our") trap; why Astronema and
Darkonda were now willing partners is unknown.
After Ecliptor's energy web had surrounded the Megaship and demorphed the Rangers below, Astronema told Darkonda to go capture the Rangers, and he replied, "Consider it done,"
saying it would be child's play.
On Forza despite Astronema's order to capture the Rangers, Darkonda ordered the Quantrons to find the Rangers and take no prisoners.
As the Quantron army
ran forward, Darkonda walked after them, telling them to hurry, as the
last one there would feel the sting of his sword.
After Darkonda, soon in front of the Quantrons, spotted the teens, the Quantrons
fought and violently grappled the teens despite
Darkonda's order to take no prisoners.
Approaching the captured teens, Darkonda told them he'd been waiting a very
long time to do this, then told the Quantrons to destroy them.
Suddenly, a massive explosion flung Quantrons about, and morphed Zhane raced in driving the new Galactic Rover; Darkonda
planned to destroy him too.
Darkonda charged at Zhane, and he raced at Darkonda; after giving him
one last chance, Zhane drove right through
Darkonda with the front of the Galactic Rover glowing gold,
destroying Darkonda in a large explosion.
A while after Dark
Specter had told Astronema to begin the
takeover the universe, Darkonda and Piranhatrons were among Astronema's invasion force of Earth.
After Ecliptor had
rushed out and shot down Red Ranger from
the air after his missiles had knocked back Piranhatrons and Darkonda, Ecliptor and Darkonda confronted the Red and Yellow Rangers together.
As Ecliptor fired his
eyebeams, Darkonda fired an orange energy bolt from his hand; their
blasts flung the two Rangers back a long
distance, where they demorphed
in pain and then ran off.
After the Rangers
had been defeated and had gone into hiding, Ecliptor and Elgar
walked with Astronema into the Dark Fortress hangar, where Ecliptor told her the super-torpedo would be ready
pleased, saying all of Earth would be history in
Hiding nearby, Darkonda listened and planned to
use the super-torpedo for his
Darkonda pulled out
his scroll, which had only one life not crossed off; he remarked that
with only one life left, the time to strike was finally at hand, as he'd
been under the thumb of Dark Specter and
Astronema for too long.
Now that Astronema
and the others had left, Darkonda hopped into the armed Velocifighter and flew off in it.
Then, as the giant Dark
Specter spoke to Astronema from beside
the Dark Fortress, Darkonda, flying in
behind him, shot a super-torpedo into his back.
Turning while explosions began to erupt from his
body, Dark Specter asked who dared fire
upon him; flying by, Darkonda replied.
With orange light streaming from his body, Dark Specter sank down groaning.
As Darkonda flew toward the Dark Fortress and fired a second super-torpedo to destroy Astronema and Ecliptor, saying "King Darkonda" had a nice ring
to it, the glowing and exploding Dark
Specter suddenly rose up and took the missile in the forehead with a

down with an explosion; his entire body then blew apart into pieces in a

Villamax, perhaps a former general of Scorpius, was in the Onyx Tavern playing cards.
On Villamax's belt
was a swortsword identical to Darkonda's; like Darkonda's, it had both a
shortsword mode and a second mode with a much longer blade.
