  • Bulk and Skull had the following conversation:
Bulk: "Five-eleven, heavy accent, gray hair... anyone interesting fit that description?"
Skull (in an apparent Bill Clinton impression): "The president of the United States?"
    Bulk: "Besides him."

  • A radio newscaster one evening reported that scientists said a reported disturbance in near space was probably a natural phenomenon that posed no threat to the planet; at this time, the Power Rangers had been missing for some time.
  • A headline in the next day's newspaper was, "Compromise Housing Bill Sent to President for OK."
  • The next morning, after the media had revealed the presence of an approaching alien armada (the Machine Empire), the governor of California came on TV to say he was officially declaring a state of emergency and that NASA, with whom he'd been in contact for the past several days, had confirmed the existence of an armada of hostile alien ships heading toward the Earth; he unfortunately reported as well that their efforts to contact the Power Rangers had proven unsuccessful.
  • The governor assured the public that they would call forth every kind of defensive power they had, and told them they had to be strong in the face of this crisis; finally, he issued a plea to the Power Rangers, wherever they were, saying, "If ever there was a time we needed you, now is it. The safety of the people of the Earth may depend on it."

  • In section 4-C of a top secret laboratory somewhere, Quantrons stood in the control room as the scientists were all unconscious; Lizwizard sucked up information from both the scientists and the computers through his long tongue, which was plugged into an interface port using a printer cable-like plug at the end of his tongue.
  • The Rangers sneaked up, assessed the situation, then stormed in, with Red Ranger blasting away with his Astro Blaster.
  • The Rangers left after the villains had vanished once Black Ranger had been tricked into injuring Pink Ranger outside.
  • After Lizwizard had uploaded all of the top secret data to the Dark Fortress's computer, Astronema was pleased that Lizwizard could now build the "grand weapon" and she could control the Earth, but he was missing a key piece of information which he then sought from Professor Phenomenus.

  • A short while after the desert nomads' release of the demons from the Tomb of Forever in perhaps Egypt, Aquabase operative Dana Mitchell passed word on to the captain; how Lightspeed had found out is unknown, although presumably some other military branch in the Middle East was responsible.

  • The belts of the Cyborg Rangers, the trenchcoats of Dr. Harlen and crew, and the sleeves of General McKnight's and accompanying officers' military uniforms all bore a red and gold variant of the traditional blue and gold Lightspeed sigil; precisely what this sigil represented is uncertain, although McKnight would refer to himself as being a part of Lightspeed Rescue.
  • General McKnight, with two black-uniformed military officers, wore an olive green U.S. military general's dress uniform, but such uniforms had been phased out of the military in the late 1950's. (Source: Uniform information submitted by Riddler)
  • On the front of McKnight's uniform jacket were many medals and ribbons; his shoulders and collar appropriately bore the four stars of a general, and at the top of his lapels was the standard "U.S." pin for officers.
  • On McKnight's left shoulder was a unit patch signifying the Third Army; the Third Army was known as "Patton's Own" during World War II and orchestrated the Iraqi defeat during Operation Desert Storm; it is based at Ft. McPherson in Georgia. (Source: Insignia identified through www.saundersinsignia.com)
  • The two officers accompanying General McKnight wore black noncommissioned officer uniforms with black caps; their uniforms, however, bore no medals or stripes, no rank insignias, nor service stripes, aside from generic Aquabase security cards.
  • The officers' only distinguishing insignias were gold lapel pins signifying infantrymen, and unit patches signifying the 24th Infantry Division; the 24th Infantry, based in the US Southeast, has been sent to the Middle East for missions in such countries as Egypt and Turkey. (Source: Insignia identified through www.saundersinsignia.com)
  • Stiffening nervously upon seeing McKnight, Mitchell saluted and addressed him by name, then asked semi-curiously, "What in the world's going on? I wasn't told--"; McKnight replied that no one was told, as the Cyborg Rangers were a top secret project.
  • The teens raved over the Cyborgs, excited to team up with them, but McKnight replied the Cyborgs weren't there to join them, but rather to replace them.
  • McKnight softly asked Mitchell, "What were you thinking, Bill?" telling him the teens could never defeat Diabolico and his evils.
  • McKnight told the teens they were relieved of their duties, and the two officers accompanying him collected their Morphers into the silver case in which the devices had originally been stored.
  • McKnight said the Cyborg Rangers were the future of Lightspeed Rescue, and Diabolico wouldn't know what hit him.
  • After the human Rangers had destroyed both the malfunctioning Cyborg Rangers and giant Strikning, General McKnight apologized to the teens and told Mitchell he wouldn't interfere again, telling him to carry on.

  • Dr. Jewel, a scientist from some sort of agency with a space telescope, perhaps NASA, drove up to the Angel Grove University observatory one evening shortly after Dr. Kender had requested that he meet her there.
  • When Dr. Kender thanked him for coming on such short notice, Dr. Jewel replied that it was his pleasure, as it wasn't every day that an event of this magnitude occurred.
  • Dr. Kender mentioned the rumors in the scientific community concerning an unusual disturbance in the Earth's atmosphere; when asked about her speculations, Dr. Kender gave meteor activity as the only reasonable explanation, but Dr. Jewel indicated otherwise.
  • At the monitoring equipment with Dr. Kender, Dr. Jewel said "it" had broken through the outer atmosphere.
  • When asked what was in his briefcase, Dr. Jewel replied that it was very distressing and showed her a top secret photgraph of a Machine Empire gear ship his agency's space telescope had taken that afternoon; he said they only had something to fear if there were more of them.
  • Some time later, the two scientists emerged from a door and, once they saw the custodian referring a news crew in their direction, they appeared to attempt to sneak away, but they were soon talking with the reporter.
  • The reporter claimed that the scientists had been the first to spot the alien spaceship of which the custodian had spoken; Dr. Kender corrected him that they hadn't said that, and Dr. Jewel told him that its true nature was classified.
  • Some time later, the reporter asked whether the aliens were peaceful, and Dr. Kender replied that it was too soon to tell, and Dr. Jewel nodded slightly.

  • As Strikning prepared to finish off the Lightspeed Rangers after stunning them with a lightning bolt, the monster was blasted by the approaching Cyborg Rangers.
  • Nearby was a black Humvee bearing a red and gold version of the Lightspeed sigil, by which stood three people in suits and gray trenchcoats; among them was the smug Dr. Harlen, who held a large remote.
  • On the left breast of the trenchcoats was a red sigil, although clipped to Harlen's coat was a green generic Aquabase security card with a standard gold-and-blue sigil.
  • Carter asked what was going on, but Harlen smugly said they had to go, knowing something they didn't, and he waved with mocking cheeriness at the Rangers as they drove off.
  • Bewildered, Mitchell turned to Miss Fairweather, but she replied uneasily, "We aren't developing any such Cyborg Rangers."
  • Mitchell asked if they hadn't sent the Cyborgs, who had, at which point General McKnight, entering the Transport control area in which the two stood, answered he had.
  • McKnight, with two black-uniformed military officers, wore an olive green U.S. military general's dress uniform, but such uniforms had been phased out of the military in the late 1950's. (Source: Uniform information submitted by Riddler)

  • On the front of McKnight's uniform jacket were many medals and ribbons; his shoulders and collar appropriately bore the four stars of a general, and at the top of his lapels was the standard "U.S." pin for officers.
  • On McKnight's right sleeve, as well as the sleeves of his two accompanying officers, was the red variant of the Lightspeed sigil as were found on the Cyborg Rangers and the coats of Dr. Harlen and crew.

  • Stiffening nervously upon seeing McKnight, Mitchell saluted and addressed him by name, then asked semi-curiously, "What in the world's going on? I wasn't told--"; McKnight replied that no one was told, as the Cyborg Rangers were a top secret project.
  • Still smiling politely, Mitchell replied that they already had five Power Rangers, but McKnight chuckled to himself and asked without intentional rudeness, "You mean those... kids?"
  • McKnight said the Cyborgs were ten times stronger than the human Rangers and were programmed for one thing - fighting - and never made mistakes, but Mitchell was edgy as he asked, "Meaning what?"
  • As the teens happily arrived in the Rover, Mitchell, McKnight, and the others emerged into Transport.
  • The teens raved over the Cyborgs, excited to team up with them, but McKnight replied the Cyborgs weren't there to join them, but rather to replace them.
  • As the teens were shocked, Mitchell softly told McKnight in a plaintive tone, "Sir, this is a mistake," but McKnight didn't think so, as they'd seen how the Cyborgs had saved "these... kids."
  • McKnight softly asked Mitchell, "What were you thinking, Bill?" telling him they could never defeat Diabolico and his evils.
  • The Cyborgs entered followed by Dr. Harlen, and McKnight told the teens they were relieved of their duties.
  • The two officers accompanying McKnight approached and gathered the teens' Morphers.
  • McKnight said the Cyborg Rangers were the future of Lightspeed Rescue, and Diabolico wouldn't know what hit him.
  • In the lab, Miss Fairweather tended to the standing Cyborgs as they recharged; entering, McKnight asked, "Impressive, aren't they?" and she agreed, "Very."
  • McKnight listed some of their specifications, noting every millimeter was programmed to perfection; Miss Fairweather replied they were truly impressive, but she feared they were missing "the one thing you can't program - a heart," causing McKnight's smile to fade confoundedly.
  • While the Cyborgs fought Strikning for a second time, McKnight watched from Ops as Mitchell and Miss Fairweather were unamused.
  • McKnight commented, "Didn't I tell you, Captain? The Cyborgs are our future," which appeared to link him with Lightspeed Rescue, given his previous remark.
  • As the Cyborgs viciously jump-kicked Strikning, McKnight proudly told Mitchell to look at them go.
  • To halt the Cyborgs as Dr. Harlen had them aim their Rescue Blasters to finish Strikning off, the monster shot his spikes into the ground at their feet, and lightning struck, causing a huge explosion which dropped the Cyborgs.
  • As Strikning vanished laughing, McKnight was stunned, saying it was impossible.
  • As Dr. Harlen crouched by the Cyborgs worriedly, they suddenly got up despite sparking burnt patches, and Harlen said in astonishment that they were all right.
  • As Harlen reached for a sparking hole on Red's arm, the five Cyborgs turned and lurched toward him, not responding to his commands.
  • McKnight asked what they were doing, and Miss Fairweather replied their circuitry was fried and that the general had to stop them.
  • A bit detached, McKnight uttered that this couldn't happen, saying they had tested them over and over; Mitchell radioed for Dr. Harlen to activate self-destruct, but it wouldn't work, and the three scientists fled in terror.
  • As McKnight was deep in woe, Mitchell and Miss Fairweather looked at the nearby case containing the teens' Morphers.
  • Upon destroying both the malfunctioning Cyborg Rangers and giant Strikning, the teens giggled and conversed in Ops as Mitchell and Miss Fairweather stood somberly, Dr. Harlen quite embarrassed in front of McKnight's two infantrymen, and they all stood at attention as McKnight entered before telling them, "At ease."
  • McKnight somewhat guiltily told the teens, "I, uh, underestimated your... capabilities," adding toward Miss Fairweather with a respectful smile, "And your heart."
  • To the teens, McKnight apologized, saying Captain Mitchell had made a wise choice, or rather five wise choices; Carter thanked him as the teens saluted, and McKnight returned with a firm salute of his own.
  • McKnight told Mitchell he wouldn't interfere again, telling him to carry on, and the two saluted each other, McKnight giving a final, respectful nod to Miss Fairweather, who nodded back.
  • As they walked off, an infantryman behind Dr. Harlen patted him to walk, and Harlen trudged off, with his hands perhaps (but not necessarily) handcuffed.

  • Of the Lifeforce and Omega Megazord cockpits, which were clones of each other (the same situation as the sentai footage) but which did not match their sentai counterparts, it was the Omega Megazord cockpit which featured a red sigil above the cockpit, whereas the Lifeforce Megazord's was blue.

  • After the fourth Starlight Crystal had been stolen, its theft reported in the newspaper, Mitchell introduced Special Agent Myers, who was heading a secret task force sent to retrieve the stolen crystals.
  • Myers wore a gray suit with no Aquabase ID card.
  • According to Special Agent Myers, there were only five Starlight Crystals in the world, and their combined powers were unimaginable.
  • Vypra had been stealing crystals, and Myers said his agency wanted to use the fifth to set a trap for her, handing out printouts of the fifth, green crystal.
  • As Dana wondered how they would find the fifth Starlight Crystal, Myers looked to Kelsey, who admitted her grandmother had it, surprising the teens.
  • Myers told Kelsey she had to get it for them, as the entire city depended on it.
  • After the Starlight Crystal had been put in a case and handcuffed to Kelsey's wrist as she wore a security guard uniform, Myers and two other guards accompanied Kelsey into a "Mariner Bay Armored Transport" armored van to depart from the lobby of a building.
  • On the drive, Kelsey called progress checks to the Rangers as they waited in the Rescue Rover nearby.
  • Soon on a side road downtown, Vypra raced up in the Vyprari and fired, causing the van to swerve aside; Batlings opened the back of the stopped van, at which point Kelsey flipped out and fought them.
  • The last one yet to leave the van, Myers was confronted by Moleman, who forced him back in, and the doors then slammed themselves shut.
  • Meanwhile, Batlings beat up the guards; as Kelsey fought, Vypra cut the handcuff with her sword and took the crystal from the case as Kelsey was grappled.
  • Vypra placed the crystal among the four others in a black tray, but the four Rangers arrived, Carter kicking her and taking the case.
  • Vypra and the Batlings soon vanished, and morphed Carter handed Kelsey the tray of five Starlight Crystals.
  • Just then, Myers weakly emerged from the van, and Kelsey presented the crystals to him, but he spun around, and the monster emerged from his body with an orange gleam, leaving the agent to collapse limply to the ground.
  • Holding the tray of crystals, Moleman burrowed into the ground, vanishing.
  • Myers then awoke unharmed, unaware of what had happened.
