  • Mitchell showed the teens a video of scientists in protective suits handling a top-secret fuel cell, loading it into a device or case; this did not take place in Mariner Bay, but related entries are listed here due to the similarity to other independent laboratories in Mariner Bay which cooperated with Lightspeed.
  • The fuel cell was extremely powerful, and sensitive to high temperature, so they had to keep it away from high heat at all costs; at this point, the video showed a scene of a nuclear blast laying waste to surrounding land, alarming the teens.
  • Mitchell said they'd meet Dr. Hanson at the airport to make sure the fuel cell got back to the Aquabase safe and sound, although he did not mention its intended function.
  • As the teens left, Mitchell kept Dana, wanting her to pick up his old friend and give him a ride to the Aquabase; what the teens didn't know was that this Earl character possessed the real fuel cell while the others unwittingly ran a decoy operation.
  • The four teens soon stood by the Rescue Rover at a landing strip where a blue and white helicopter landed; two men in black then furtively escorted the suited, balding Dr. Hanson away from the helicopter.
  • Dr. Hanson had a silver case handcuffed to his wrist.
  • As the teens greeted him and took him to the Rover, Dr. Hanson asked (perhaps skeptically) if they were with Lightspeed.
  • The teens then drove through the city in the seemingly unsecure, open-topped Rover as Dr. Hanson looked around nervously; red blasts suddenly caused them to swerve and get out to investigate, at which point Fireor attacked with Batlings, demanding the fuel cell.
  • Confronting Dr. Hanson, Fireor soon slashed the box off his wrist but found the box empty, and the startled Rangers had the guilty-looking Dr. Hanson get somewhere safe.

  • As the Cyborg Rangers made their debut, nearby was a black Humvee bearing a red and gold version of the Lightspeed sigil, by which stood three people in suits and gray trenchcoats; among them was the smug Dr. Harlen, coordinator of the Cyborgs.
  • On the left breast of the trenchcoats was a red sigil matching those on the military uniforms of General McKnight and his two accompanying officers.
  • Clipped to Harlen's coat was a green generic Aquabase security card with a standard gold-and-blue sigil, like the ones worn by the officers accompanying McKnight.

    823-FiCr

  • At night, Vypra was dressed as a cat burglar along with two Batlings; they rappelled down to the window of a highly secured lab featuring security cameras and infrared lasers.
  • Vypra cut a circle into the glass, then, crawling along the ceiling, put a device on a security camera to make it show an empty room.
  • Vypra then hung down and used a device with a keypad to crack a security code on a containment device for the yellow Starlight Crystal, which was kept in blue light on cottony white material.

    826-ATRO

  • At 11:42, eighteen minutes before pods on the teens' arms were to release toxic spores, Mitchell told them of a lab on the east side with a poison that should destroy the pods, and they to meet people from the lab at a location halfway between them.
  • At roughly 11:56 in an empty parking lot, the teens in the Rescue Rover met a white van looking like a repaint of Professor Phenomenus's van, with a red siren light on top and a red/white/blue stripe down the side, with label "East Side Lab" on the side.
  • Three scientists in labcoats got out and presented a case containing a syringe (sans needle) and four vials full of green liquid.
  • Kelsey asked if they were sure it would work, and the bald scientist holding the case snidely told them it would absolutely work.
  • An orange energy bolt blasted the case, destroying the contents as it was dropped, and Vilevine vanished after telling them the pods would release the spores in four minutes.
  • The teens stood in despair until Carter was suddenly inspired to call for the Solarzord, realizing the spores couldn't hurt anyone in outer space.

Hanson at the airport to make sure the fuel cell got back to the Aquabase safe and sound.
  • Mitchell meanwhile assigned Dana to pick up his old friend and give him a ride to the Aquabase, giving her his address, as he had bad eyesight.
  • In a run-down alley, Dana knocked on the metal screen door of the address she'd been given for Mitchell's old friend, and Earl anxiously looked out the door.
  • Earl was a man perhaps in his late sixties who spoke with a Southern accent and wore fishing clothes, although the accent was merely an act.
  • As Dana said her name, Earl was suddenly friendly and hugged her, realizing she was Bill Mitchell's daughter; he then retrieved his fishing nets and a tackle box from inside, to Dana's annoyance.
  • Earl told Dana he'd let her drive "old blue," his old blue pickup truck.
  • As Dana drove, she received an emergency call from Carter, at which point she swerved the truck to join the others, but Mitchell ordered her to return to base; she then angrily swerved the truck back around in the original direction.
  • Soon, Earl nervously asked how much farther, clutching the tackle box.
  • The city then began to heat up; as Dana fanned herself, Earl said it was getting too hot; at this point, it could be heard that his Southern accent was a ruse.
  • Fireballs suddenly rained down from the sky, making Dana crash, and Earl spilled his box and ice inside; after scrambling to pick up the box, Earl piled ice from a nearby ice machine, at which point Dana coyly realized he'd had the fuel cell the entire time.
  • The fuel cell revealed inside his ice-filled tackle box, Earl explained he and Mitchell had hoped nothing would happen, but that if anything did, her presence with him would ensure he'd get to the Aquabase safely no matter what.
  • Vypra's blasts struck around Earl and Dana, knocking the tackle box to the ground; his arm hurt, Earl crawled for the box, then wrapped the cell and some ice in his jacket, which had been removed.
  • After retreating from Vypra with Earl, Dana put Earl's arm in a sling as they hid behind a crate, but he reassured her with a grimace he'd be fine.
  • Admiring Dana, Earl remarked that she looked just like her mother; Dana was startled that Earl knew her mother, and he added she would be so proud of Dana if she could see her now.
  • Dana rushed Earl to a waterfront dock, where they were confronted again by Vypra.
  • Backing up to the edge of the dock, Dana told Earl to trust her; she then used a pipe to deflect Vypra's blast, and the two disappeared into the water below, where they would soon be picked up somehow by an Aquabase submarine.
  • In Rescue Ops, Earl attributed their arrival to Dana; Mitchell then allowed her to join the others in battle.

  • As Strikning prepared to finish off the Lightspeed Rangers after stunning them with a lightning bolt, the monster was blasted by the approaching Cyborg Rangers' version of the Rescue Blasters, and the human Rangers awoke startled.
  • Nearby was a black Humvee bearing a red and gold version of the Lightspeed sigil, by which stood three people in suits and gray trenchcoats; among them was the smug, balding Dr. Harlen, who held strapped around his neck by his stomach a bulky remote device with a black joystick.
  • On the left breast of the trenchcoats was a red sigil, although clipped to Harlen's coat was a green generic Aquabase security card with a standard gold-and-blue sigil, like the ones worn by the officers accompanying McKnight.
  • Harlen smugly greeted the Rangers, telling them the title of the Cyborg Rangers which made the Rangers realize they were robots.
  • Harlen was wearing a gold wedding band.
  • Harlen flipped switches on his remote, making the Cyborgs stiffen, then told the Cyborgs to "return to base," causing them to pile uncomfortably into the cramped rear of the black Humvee as Harlen moved the joystick slightly.
  • Carter asked what was going on, but Harlen smugly said they had to go, knowing something they didn't, and he waved with mocking cheeriness at the Rangers as they drove off.
  • The Cyborgs soon entered the Aquabase's Transport Bay followed by Dr. Harlen as General McKnight relieved the teens of their duties.
  • In the lab later, Miss Fairweather tended to the standing Cyborgs as they recharged; Dr. Harlen was not present.
  • As Strikning later attacked another building downtown, the Cyborg Rangers appeared on the scene in mid-jump kick from green gridlines, and the black Humvee drove up, Harlen and associates briefly guiding fleeing people away.
  • As Strikning charged for Dr. Harlen, he called out for the Cyborgs to stop the attacker.
  • Working a tiny joystick, Harlen ordered the Cyborg Rangers to attack; beside him, a trenchcoat associate was taking notes on a clipboard.
  • As the Cyborgs utterly pounded Strikning, Harlen triumphantly called for them to use their Cyborg Rescue Blasters, but the monster shot his spikes into the ground at their feet, and lightning struck, causing a huge explosion which dropped the Cyborgs, and Strikning vanished laughing.
  • As Dr. Harlen crouched by the Cyborgs worriedly, seemingly unsure what to do, they suddenly got up despite sparking burnt patches, and Harlen said in astonishment that they were all right.
  • As Harlen reached for a sparking hole on Red's arm, the five Cyborgs turned and lurched toward him, making him recoil in horror.
  • As the three men retreated toward the Humvee, Harlen repeatedly ordered them to stop and return to base, but they kept approaching.
  • Captain Mitchell radioed for Dr. Harlen to activate self-destruct, which he eagerly tried on the remote, but it wouldn't work, and the three scientists fled in terror.
  • The scientists rounded a corner, but the "male" Cyborgs broke through the wall, and the three fleeing men were blasted out of a building with an explosion by the "females," then surrounded by the others.
  • Carter suddenly leapt in and pulled Dr. Harlen aside, the teens helping the scientists.
  • After being kicked by Carter, Red spoke, "Human Rangers are no match for Cyborg Rangers. You will all be terminated."
  • Agreeing that they were no match for the Cyborgs, Harlen told Carter nothing could stop them, but Captain Mitchell screeched up in the Rescue Rover and threw the teens their Morphers.
  • Upon destroying both the malfunctioning Cyborg Rangers and giant Strikning, the teens giggled and conversed in Ops as Mitchell and Miss Fairweather stood somberly, Dr. Harlen quite embarrassed in front of McKnight's two infantrymen, and they all stood at attention as McKnight entered before telling them, "At ease."
  • After McKnight had apologized and told Mitchell he wouldn't interfere again, they walked off, and an infantryman behind Dr. Harlen patted him to walk, and Harlen trudged off; during this entire scene, Harlen's hands were clasped together in front of him (perhaps handcuffed, although little justification would exist for such an action, given McKnight's personal remorse over the incident).

  • As Mitchell discussed needing something more against Infinitor, he asked Miss Fairweather about Clark's new technology, and she excitedly realized he'd have some great ideas.
  • Miss Fairweather called Clark a brilliant scientist, telling the teens he'd written the book (said figuratively) on energy transformation.
  • Mitchell asked if Clark would help them, and she remarked for her, he'd do anything, and she giddily said she'd call him right away.
  • In an Aquabase hallway, Clark, a broad-shouldered man with brown hair down to his shoulders, wearing glasses and a generic green ID card, and carrying a gold box of flowers, asked Joel where Miss Fairweather's lab was, thanking him with a smirk as Joel directed him.
  • Twirling his sister around in a hug, Clark told Angela her smile was still like a ray of sunshine, coincidentally using the line Joel had been practicing in the hall.
  • Angela happily pressed her cheek to Clark's when he gave her a bunch of flowers in a long box.
  • Inviting Joel in to meet Clark, Miss Fairweather said with him on their team, Infinitor didn't stand a chance.
  • Clark hoped he could be of some help, and he took Joel's hand and shook it as Joel stood unamused.
  • Miss Fairweather remarked of Clark, "He can build a Megazord blindfolded," giddily saying it would be so great to work together, and he agreed with a smile.
  • Miss Fairweather led Clark away, arm in arm, saying she just loved a guy with a complex mind.
  • With Clark in a labcoat too, he and Miss Fairweather watched as the green Mega Battle buzzsaw blade cut through a thick piece of metal; the blade was even stronger than they'd thought, and Angela amazedly laughed he was a genius.
  • As Joel entered wearing a labcoat and glasses, Clark and Angela approached grinning, and Joel explained he'd thought his scientific expertise might come in handy.
  • Miss Fairweather began to turn down his offer, but Clark took him aside telling him they were about done, but there was only one more test.
  • In the booth, Clark asked him to help with some very complex wiring, which he said should be no problem for someone with his skills, and he grinned as he shut the door behind Joel.
  • At a complex wire setup, thin red wires were hooked up to a panel in the control booth, some going up into the nearby blue Mega Battle torso armor.
  • Clark suggested he and Angela go out to celebrate later, and she agreed after a brief pause.
  • As Joel wielded pliers, Clark knocked on the glass and told him just to hook the wires up into standard configuration, grinning and giving an O.K. sign to Joel as he began.
  • When Joel guessed he was done, Clark had him try it, and Angela panicked to stop him, but Joel mashed the red test button, making sparks fly, and the Aquabase momentarily blacked out.
  • Overlooking the lake, Clark and Angela sat in his black convertible compact car with the top down and toasted to the Mega Battles, which she said she couldn't have finished without him.
  • Miss Fairweather thought to get something out of the back seat, and she shared what looked like cake with him.
  • As Miss Fairweather was gigglingly wiping off Clark's mouth with a napkin, a sprinkler began spraying the car, and Angela squealed between giggles; Clark raised the convertible top, and she remarked he was brilliant.
  • As Angela confronted the mischievous Chad and Joel nearby, a volley of missiles struck the car, making an explosion which left Clark unconscious in the burning car.
  • As Joel pulled the semi-conscious Clark from the car, it exploded behind them, knocking them forward.
  • Recovering, Joel tried to stir Clark, but he stood back as Miss Fairweather sobbingly tried to wake him, hugging him tearfully as he groaned her name.
  • Angela and the weak Clark watched proudly as Joel and Chad summoned the Mega Battles.
  • At a table in the galley later, Clark was whispering something in Angela's ear; the teens came in, and he greeted them.
  • Clark had a hurt spot on his head from the explosion earlier.
  • Clark politely asked Joel to have a seat, but Joel just wanted to thank him, as the Mega Battles had really saved them out there.
  • Clark instead thanked him, but added it had all been worth it to spend some time with Angela.
  • Clark headed out with a lingering touch on Angela's shoulder which she returned, and he left with a briefcase, waving.
  • As Miss Fairweather admiringly watched Clark leaving, Joel asked, "You really love him, don't you?" and she smiled after Clark and replied she couldn't live without him.
  • With increasing disbelief after Joel had thought Clark was her boyfriend, Miss Fairweather said, "You didn't think that he and I were--" and Joel stammered about only joking, saying anybody could see that was her brother (although at least Chad had thought the same as Joel).
