803-TByF

  • Soon after he'd thrown Quakemon's card into the demon maw, Jinxer went to the scene and called for the rocks and pebbles below to grow, at which point monster chunks on the ground transformed into white-necked vampire bats which flew up in a huge black cloud and formed giant Quakemon when ordered to "unite and destroy!"; this process was normally used to reassemble and enlarge destroyed monsters from their remaining chunks, but Quakemon had just been summoned.

    804-REdg

  • Upon his destruction, Whirlin was blown apart with an explosion into charred meaty chunks, the standard method of destruction for the demons' monsters prior to resurrection and enlargement, typically by a monster card.
  • Tossing a standard growth card into one of Whirlin's chunks, Jinxer called him a "demon of wind" and a "demon of bats" before he reassembled and grew with the standard bat cloud growth which accompanied the use of that card.

    812-TDis

  • Depending on the growth card used, monsters could grow to either giant size (the standard height of a Megazord) or titan-sized (the towering height of the Supertrain Megazord, or perhaps the Zeo Ultrazord); based on the toy line, titan-sized would have been larger than giant-sized by a roughly 5:3 ratio.

    813-RyDe

  • As his last-ditch effort to defeat the Rangers, Diabolico summoned a box which contained three monster cards, and Jinxer nervously told Diabolico those were the only monsters he had left.
  • Diabolico's three most powerful monsters - Demonite, Falkar, and Thunderon - actually appeared to be angel-warriors rather than demons.

    832-Sorc

  • In the Shadow World, Olympius ascertained this was where the spirits of the defeated monsters were exiled, and Gatekeeper replied when monsters were destroyed, they walked in this limbo forever; this would apply to other monsters than merely those used by the demons.
  • Rays from Gatekeeper's staff summoned fourteen monsters, some of whom had been previously defeated by the Lightspeed Rangers; among them, Arachnor and Treevil would actually be used by the demons in the future.
  • Skull-themed zombie monster From left to right, the line of monsters consisted of Thunderclaw, Spellbinder, Quakemon, a skull-themed zombie monster, a monster with pipes extending from him (referred to as pipe monster here), Freezard, Fireor, Arachnor, Liztwin in his advanced form, Shockatron, Treevil, a black bat monster, a goldish moth monster, and a brightly colored flower monster; whether these were all demon-associated monsters is uncertain (see "Monsters" for more).
  • All of the zombie-like monsters, whether in the city or still in the Shadow World, attacked by shooting purple energy blasts from their mouths.

    833-OlUn

  • Jinxer said the only way out of the Shadow World with the portal closed was to conquer all of the defeated monsters and absorb their powers.
  • Olympius faced down what was mostly the same small army from 832-Sorc, but now with the addition of Cyclopter; the monsters were faltering and apparently somewhat beaten already.
  • Olympius told the monsters he had to take their strength, as it was the only way he could escape, and he slashed them with his pike repeatedly, apparently severing limbs.
  • A white mist from Olympius's mouth sucked up a heap of beaten monsters, leaving behind what looked like stray smoking body parts.
  • Olympius then sucked up the rest as they were still standing, and he morphed into a bulkier form.

    837-WrQn

  • On the "skirt" of Bansheera's monster form were various monster faces, including Aquafiend, Fireor, Arachnor, and the zombie monster from 832-Sorc.

    839-FLs1

  • Among the assorted monsters in the Shadow World's underground tomb were numerous monsters used by the demons; also present were several who had been previously absorbed by Olympius in 833-OlUn.

  • In a blazing apartment fire after the demons' release but before their arrival in the skull castle, Carter evacuated a little girl; as they passed a hallway, Carter looked and saw a monster shape masked in the flames, with a dull growl, shocking him.
  • With evil laughter, a wall of flame rolled down the hallway, and Carter was flung out the window with the girl.
  • Perhaps an hour or more later, Ghouligan and Batlings appeared downtown, Ghouligan in a fiery orange streak.
  • Ghouligan strongly resembled Psycho-monster Red but with slight alterations and some black coloring.
  • Ghouligan told the Batlings they'd waited a long time for this, ordering them to destroy the people before them.
  • Ghouligan could blow a fireball into his hand and throw it, making a large explosion.
  • When the teens soon morphed into Lightspeed Rangers, Ghouligan exclaimed, "Power Rangers?!".
  • Ghouligan crackled green electricity from his chest into his hands, charging them up with flames which he threw.
  • Despite thinking the Rangers didn't have the guts, Ghouligan was blasted by the five Rescue Blaster lasers, and he fell and exploded with a fiery shockwave.

    840-FLs2

  • Ghouligan was among the assorted monsters in the Shadow World's underground tomb.

    Magmavore
    - giant lava monster summoned by Jinxer
    Magmavore

    802-LsTm

  • After learning they couldn't reach the Rangers' base underwater, Diabolico told Jinxer he wanted a monster evil enough to wipe the city off the face of the Earth.
  • Soon, a flaming meteor flew down and crashed in the city.
  • Downtown was a large molten pile in the city rubble, from which the rocky giant lava being Magmavore then emerged.
  • Magmavore was a craggly lava creature similar in texture to Maligore and Dark Specter; in the right side of his chest was a second face.
  • Unlike most monsters, Magmavore demonstrated no language capabilities.
  • Magmavore could shoot a barrage of fireballs from his torso, which he did at the city.
  • The crater then erupted, an entire skyscraper collapsed into rubble downtown from the flood of lava in the area; the lava would eventually be cooled by water spray from Aqua Rescue Two.
  • A while later as the Rangers were rescuing civilians trapped in a skyscraper, giant Magmavore arose from the lava pit and approached, smashing the building apart just after the rescue.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord destroyed Magmavore by picking him up and tossing him into his own lava pit, blue light rays shining from the fading smoke after the explosion.

    809-GVol

  • After Trifire had been destroyed, Queen Bansheera hadalready enacted a plan, and Magmavore's silhouette was visible inside the volcano's core.

    810-RAsh

  • Later, Bansheera told Magmavore it was time for his glorious return, and he laughed evilly inside the volcano's core and then arose.
  • From a glowing fissure, a giant, solid red Magmavore arose with a large club.
  • As he pounded the Lightspeed Megazord, Magmavore's club broke the Lightspeed Megazord Saber in half, shocking Captain Mitchell, who said it was impossible.
  • On Bansheera's remote orders, giant Magmavore walked over to the smoking chunks of Trifire in the mountains and shot red eyebeams into them; they arose with a red swirl (later associated with Jinxer's advanced growth cards) and reassembled into giant Trifire, now with a new weapon and armor; at this point, Bansheera left from an onset of weakness.
  • The two monsters blasted the Megazord, Magmavore with fireballs from his chest, at which point the ground split open and the Megazord fell in, having lost all power.
  • Diabolico had the monsters return to their resting places, at which point the two sank into the earth.
  • After the Rangers had reactivated the Megazord a short while later, the two giant monsters arose again and pounded the Megazord.
  • The Supertrain Megazord's hand-mounted Gatling Blasters caused the glowing Magmavore to fall and explode, fireballs flying all over, most pouring over a cliff, and the volcano would then erupt violently.
  • The Supertrain Megazord fired a barrage of freeze missiles which shot into the volcano and instantly froze the entire mountain solid.

    Quakemon
    - earthquake-based demon selected by Loki
    Quakemon
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 803-TByF
    Last Appearance: 833-OlAs

    803-TByF

  • Loki selected one of five monster cards for Jinxer to throw into the demon maw to help Vypra against the Rangers in her foiled earthquake plot.
  • In the mountains, Loki had Jinxer do his stuff.
  • Jinxer's incantation called for the rocks and pebbles below to grow, at which point monster chunks on the ground transformed into white-necked vampire bats which flew up in a huge black cloud and formed giant Quakemon when ordered to unite; this process was normally used to reassemble and enlarge destroyed monsters from their remaining chunks, but Quakemon had just been summoned.
  • Quakemon was a wide-grinned beige monster with a vaguely wood-like texture.
  • Unlike most monsters, Quakemon demonstrated no language capabilities.
  • Quakemon dove into the ground and emerged to grab the Megazord's legs, but it punted him back with a flipping kick.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber's fire slash destroyed giant Quakemon.

    832-Sorc

  • Quakemon was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.

    833-OlUn

  • The aforementioned group was defeated and absorbed by Olympius in his quest to escape the Shadow World, although this process did not permanently excise the spirits' existence.

    Other Sources

  • Quakemon's name comes from the Fox Kids website.

    Whirlin
    - tornado-based demon selected by Diabolico
    Whirlin
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 804-REdg
    Last Appearance: 804-REdg
Pictures: Whirlin card, Whirlin (shown at right)

    804-REdg

  • Needing a monster the Rangers couldn't get close to, Diabolico summoned Whirlin's monster card and had Jinxer create the monster.
  • Whirlin was a dark blue monster with bat-like ears and a spine-like column down his front; he had fairly large red demon wings.
  • A tornado soon appeared in the city.
  • The tornado briefly vanished to allow Diabolico's image to taunt them above, but it then returned, ripping through a docked ship with an exlosion, and the Rangers chased it.
  • Nearly four hours later, the Rangers chased the tornado to a storage area of giant metal crates.
  • Carter's Rescue Blaster fire knocked Whirlin out of his tornado, dispersing the funnel and causing him to summon Batlings.
  • Whirlin could spew fireballs from his mouth.
  • The Rangers' blaster fire made Whirlin vanish in his tornado and terrorized the space shuttle during its descent through the atmosphere.
  • The Unilaser beam struck Whirlin in the tornado, blowing him apart into chunks, and the tornado vanished.
  • Jinxer tossed a standard growth card into a chunk, calling him a "demon of wind" and a "demon of bats."
  • For his "wind spin," giant Whirlin spun around in a tornado, hitting the Megazord with rubble, but upon stopping, he was startled to see the Megazord ready to punch.
  • After punching him, the Lightspeed Megazord picked up Whirlin with its ladder arms and threw him over the city, where he exploded similar to Magmavore's destruction, but the then arose again.
  • A long-distance slash from the Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed Whirlin.

    Fireor
    - fire-based demon summoned by Impus
    Fireor

    First Appearance: 805-AMOT
Last Appearance: (face, on Bansheera) 840-FLs2

    805-AMOT

  • As Diabolico planned to steal the fuel cell the teens had been sent to protect, Impus whimpered, and Jinxer thought he was maturing and was ready to create his first monster.
  • With purple energy from his pacifier, Impus formed Fireor's card, and Jinxer set him down, congratulating him.
  • Jinxer threw the card into the red maw, and purple wisps flowed down to the skull castle and into the maw's horn; Fireor then flew out as a fireball.
  • Fireor was a winged reddish-brown monster with silver slit chestplates and a white mask with eye slits.
  • Fireor said he was ready to serve the queen.
  • As Loki was cocky and bullying, Fireor suddenly turned his head and blasted Loki back with fireballs from his eye slits; Diabolico approved, sending Fireor to get the fuel cell.
  • As the teens drove through the city with Dr. Hanson, red blasts suddenly caused them to swerve and get out to investigate, at which point Fireor attacked with Batlings, demanding the fuel cell.
  • Fireor shot a flaming energy blast from his huge right blade arm at the Rangers.
  • Fireor confronted Dr. Hanson and slashed the box off his wrist, having Batlings open it, but he was shocked to find it empty.
  • Carter blasted Fireor, but he told the Rangers it was empty, surprising them as well.
  • Fireor realized the Pink Ranger must have the cell with her, saying the city would burn until he got it, and the villains vanished.
  • On a rooftop downtown to find the cell, Fireor declared, "Power of the sun, bring this city down!" and after his silver front panels had apparently absorbed sunlight, a stream of flames from his hands shot into the sky, and a flaming ring expanded through the city, raising its temperature significantly.
  • Another flaming ring burst out from the skyscraper's top, but it then contracted and crystallized into an enormous hovering lens; the lens then angled and began shooting explosive fireballs at the Rangers below.
  • Fireballs then impacted around the pickup in which Dana was driving Earl, the real carrier of the fuel cell, and he scrambled to pack more ice into the box containing the device in order to keep it properly chilled in the surrounding heat.
  • While Vypra pursued Dana and Earl, Fireor stood under the sun, calling "Brighter!" before being confronted by the Rangers.
  • As he fought them, Fireor leapt off the building with Joel, slamming him into the ground below, before the other three arrived.
  • Having a regular arm, Fireor summoned his blade arm with red fiery tendrils.
  • Fireor teleport-dodged Carter's swings with fiery energy, teleporting to a balcony of a nearby abandoned building and going inside.
  • Inside, a flaming large image of Fireor appeared overhead and shot fireballs from his eyes at the Rangers.
  • After fading in, Fireor raised his hand for a fireball, and the lens shot two down through the roof, making the Rangers collapse limply.
  • Fireor stomped on Carter and summoned another fireball, but Carter suddenly grabbed his foot, and they all grappled him, jumping away at the last second, allowing the two fireballs to destroy him.
  • Fireor was reassembled and enlarged with a standard growth card, as were all further monsters by default.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed giant Fireor.

    832-Sorc

  • Fireor was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.
  • Following the Rangers through a portal, Fireror, Liztwin, and the pipe monster materialized in giant form in Mariner Bay; they merely roared rather than speaking.
  • Giant Fireor was perhaps a head shorter than the other two.
  • The three giant monsters beamed purple energy from their mouths.
  • As pipe monster and Liztwin grappled the taller Supertrain, giant Fireor impaled the Supertrain Megazord all the way through its midsection with his long arm blade.
  • Giant Fireor, now alone, blasted purple energy from his mouth, making an explosion, but the flames were sucked into the Lightspeed Solarzord's panels.
  • Reeling in a fiery ball from the Lightspeed Solarzord's barrage, giant Fireor dissolved upward into flames.

    837-WrQn

  • On the "skirt" of Bansheera's monster form were various monster faces, including Fireor.

    806-WODe

  • In a plaza, the "gold-beaked monster" (named as such in the credits) flew through the air, chased by the Rangers; which of the demons had sent him is unknown.
  • Gold was a black and red monster with pointy red ears, a necklace of crystals, and a gold mask with a pointy nose, and he had red and black bat or dragon wings under his arms.
  • Gold shot gold energy pulses from his eyes.
  • When blasted by Dana, Gold said he hated pounding the pavement, so he had them give it a try, flapping his wings and blowing tiles off the ground at the Rangers.
  • The five Rescue Blaster lasers destroyed Gold.

    Elestomp
    - elephant demon selected by Loki
    Elestomp
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters

    Last Appearance: 806-WODe
Pictures: Elestomp card, Elestomp (shown at right)

    806-WODe

  • Loki gave Jinxer the card for Elestomp, which showed the monster apparently at a shore of some sort.
  • The stomp-prone Elestomp emerged from the maw in a green energy whirlwind.
  • Elestomp was a green elephant with a cobra eye in each ear, and silver pointed shoulder coverings.
  • When asked what he wanted him to smash, Loki replied Mariner Bay and the Power Rangers, and Elestomp planned to stomp them into dust.
  • Elestomp caused the ground to rumble mildly when he stomped.
  • Fighting the Rangers in a park overlooking the city, Elestomp slammed Carter aside and then performed his "trunk spelunker" move, impaling his trunk into the ground and blowing an underground stream of fire to their position.
  • Elestomp then turned to the skyline and sent a blast in that direction, knocking over trees in its trail, and then detonating a skyscraper on the edge of the city, causing a chain reaction of explosions.
  • The Rangers rushed in but were pounded by his strength.
  • Elestomp shot green eyebeams.
  • Elestomp was destroyed by the Unilaser.

    Strikning
    - lightning-based demon
    Strikning
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 807-CybR
    Last Appearance: 807-CybR

    807-CybR

  • Downtown, the sky grew dark and cloudy as Strikning was downtown with Batlings.
  • Strikning was a spikey metallic gold and black skeletal armored monster with lightning-shaped golden helmet horns.
  • With his standard cry of, "Lightning spikes away!" Strikning shot three metallic spikes from his chest into a building, and lightning struck them, bringing down the building with an explosion.
  • Strikning fought with a triple-blade staff.
  • Strikning shot spikes into the ground at Carter's feet, knocking the Rangers out with a lightning bolt from above.
  • Strikning prepared a final blow to Carter to finish what he was sent there to do, but he was blasted and pounded by the Cyborg Rangers, forcing him to retreat in a thundering whirlwind.
  • The demons made no mention of Strikning or the Cyborgs, more concerned with Impus's crying in the castle.
  • Later, Strikning attacked downtown, blasting down another building with his lightning spikes.
  • Just then, the Cyborg Rangers appeared on the scene, and when Dr. Harlen and associates got out of the black Humvee, Strikning charged the remote-wielding scientist; the Cyborgs stopped him, however, and proceeded to utterly pound him.
  • To halt the Cyborgs as Dr. Harlen had them aim their Rescue Blasters to finish Strikning off, the monster shot his spikes into the ground at their feet, and lightning struck, causing a huge explosion which dropped the Cyborgs, and Strikning vanished laughing.
  • After the Lightspeed Rangers had destroyed the malfunctioning Cyborg Rangers, Strikning confronted the Rangers, firing more lightning spikes, but the Rangers leapt and struck with their batons.
  • The Unilaser destroyed Strikning, but a growth card enlarged him under a stormy sky.
  • Giant Strikning shot three spikes into the Megazord's chest without a word command, but with its left ladder arm on Carter's command, the Megazord clamped its hand over Strikning's mouth and hoisted him into the air; when the lightning hit the Megazord, it flowed through the ladder arm, electrocuting Strikning instead.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed giant Strikning, the sky lightening between the slash and the monster's actual explosion.

    Smogger
    - gas-based demon selected by Vypra
    Smogger
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 808-UpCh
    Last Appearance: 808-UpCh
Pictures: Smogger (shown at right), ball form

    808-UpCh

  • When Diabolico reminded them of having to destroy Mariner Bay, Vypra presented Jinxer with a card for Smogger to blow up the city; she said the Rangers would be no match for his explosive firepower.
  • Smogger was a bulky green and yellow demon with two large yellow round sacks for shoulders.
  • Jinxer's incantation to summon Smogger mentioned "bullfrog croakus," implying Smogger was frog-based.
  • Smogger emerged in ball form from a red energy sphere, and he then expanded into monster form.
  • With blue energy downtown, Smogger summoned two white spheres (larger than a basketball) and threw them, blowing up the top of a building.
  • After the Rangers had dealt with the building collapse, Smogger arrived in a white cloud and then rolled off as the Rangers were grappled by Batlings.
  • Chased by Chad and Kelsey into a run-down old industrial area, Smogger rolled into a building, the doors slamming shut behind him.
  • Somewhere inside, Smogger began flooding the dark room with white gas from his hole-tipped fingers.
  • Outside, Kelsey shot a barrage of lasers at the door, making dozens of tiny holes; white gas briefly emerged from the holes but was sucked back inside, indicating a backdraft.
  • Kelsey barged in to see the gas flowing away quickly, but a violent explosion then blew her and Chad back, demorphing them.
  • Looking over the singed teens, Smogger left laughing to tell Vypra.
  • Told by Vypra to blow up all of Mariner Bay, Smogger replied he hadn't even used his strongest gas yet.
  • In a tunnel with Batlings, Smogger planned to blow up the city from beneath.
  • Outside the city tunnel, Smogger wrapped the three Rangers in green tendrils from his mouth and then knocked them down with exploding white spheres.
  • Smogger threw another sphere, but Kelsey raced up and launched the Rescue Speeder, knocking the sphere back at Smogger and causing it to blow him back.
  • Kelsey used her baton to break the three free of the tendrils wrapped around them.
  • Carter and Chad rammed Smogger with the Lightspeed Cycle and Rescue Speeder combination, slamming him with explosions through boxes and walls before braking, and he flew off the cycle and exploded.

    Trifire
    - three-headed firebreathing dragon demon created by Impus
    Trifire
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
Pictures: Trifire card, Trifire (shown at right), advanced form

    809-GVol

  • As the demons looked at a rippling image of Mt. Jasmine, where Dana was going to test her volcanic equipment, Jinxer said that Impus had the excellent idea to cause the dormant volcano to erupt and destroy Mariner Bay.
  • After Jinxer had cast Impus's red and black Trifire card into the maw, Trifire emerged in a fireball.
  • Trifire was a mostly black monster with some red; he had dragon wings, and three red dragon heads.
  • Queen Bansheera, above, told Trifire to awaken the volcano with his fiery breath.
  • At a mountain cave with melting snow patches around, Trifire entered a Batling-guarded cave and found the glowing red core of Mt. Jasmine, blowing fire from his center mouth which heated up the dormant volcano and triggered a series of earthquake as he continued.
  • Confronted by the Rangers in his cave, Trifire rammed them outside.
  • Trifire blew his flame breath, then roasted Kelsey when she leapt.
  • To counter Trifire's flame breath, Carter sprayed him with the Rescue Bird's sprayer weapon.
  • The Unilaser destroyed Trifire.
  • To extinguish giant Trifire's flame breath, the Lightspeed Megazord's wrist cannon sprayed white foam on the monster's face, nullifying the flame breath.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed giant Trifire.

    810-RAsh

  • On Bansheera's remote orders, giant Magmavore walked over to the smoking chunks of Trifire in the mountains and shot red eyebeams into them; they arose with a red swirl (later associated with Jinxer's advanced growth cards) and reassembled into giant Trifire, now with a dual-bladed weapon and red coverings over his chest, shoulders, and dragon faces.
  • The two monsters blasted the Megazord, Trifire with a green energy beam, red fiery energy, and blue electricity from his three mouths, at which point the ground split open and the Megazord fell in, having lost all power.
  • Diabolico had the monsters return to their resting places, at which point the two sank into the earth.
  • After the Rangers had reactivated the Megazord a short while later, the two giant monsters arose again, pounding the Megazord.
  • The barrage from the Supertrain Megazord's shoulder-mounted Gatling Blasters caused giant Trifire to puff up into pellets and then explode in grains.

    Liztwin
    - dinosaur-like demon unleashed by Vypra
    Liztwin
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 812-TDis
    Last Appearance: 832-Sorc
Pictures: Liztwin (shown at right), advanced form

    812-TDis

  • Vypra appeared downtown with Liztwin to stop the Rangers from going after the confused Ryan.
  • Liztwin was a goldish lizard monster with a second head for a right hand and long back spikes, a gray spiral on his chest; both of his heads could speak.
  • Liztwin extended his mouth-hand and flung Carter around until Kelsey slashed the arm painfully with the Rescue Drill.
  • The Unilaser destroyed Liztwin into the standard chunks with a golden flash of sparkles.
  • As an advanced growth card stuck into the chunks, they were reassembled into titan-sized form in a red energy cyclone; within the red energy, Liztwin grew long finger claws in place of his head hand, back fins, and a more hideous horned dinosaur-like head.
  • Advanced Liztwin only growled rather than spoke.
  • The Supertrain's shoulder-mounted Gatling Blasters didn't faze titan-sized Liztwin.
  • The hand-mounted Gatling Blasters destroyed titan-sized Liztwin.

    832-Sorc

  • Liztwin, in his advanced form but normal-sized, was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.
  • Following the Rangers through a portal, Fireor, Liztwin, and the pipe monster materialized in giant form in Mariner Bay; they merely roared rather than speaking.
  • The three giant monsters beamed purple energy from their mouths.
  • The Supertrain Megazord's hand-mounted Gatling Blasters destroyed giant pipe monster and Liztwin simultaneously.

    Cobra monster
    - curse given to Ryan by Diabolico, and associated snake demon in Tomb of Forever
    Cobra monster
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
First Appearance: (tattoo) 813-RyDe, (monster) 816-CStr
    Last Appearance: 816-CStr
Pictures: cobra tattoo, cobra monster (shown at right)

    801-OpLs

  • After the desert nomads had unwittingly undone the seal on the sarcophagus in the Tomb of Forever, the tomb began to rumble; on the wall, two cobra statues began to breathe mist from their nostrils.

    813-RyDe

  • As Ryan slept uneasily, he dreamed of running through an area of pillars in the skull castle.
  • A golden beam from Diabolico's staff branded a tattoo into his lower back.
  • Diabolico presented his permanent gift to Ryan, a large gray cobra tattoo; every time Ryan morphed, the cobra would move up his body until it reached his neck and destroyed him.
  • The cobra illustration slithered up Ryan's neck and plunged its fangs into his neck, making him startle awake, at which point he found the tattoo on his flesh.

    814-CCob

  • After morphing to help the Rangers the next day, Ryan leapt onto a rooftop and blasted with his weapon.
  • Beneath his suit, the tattoo began to glow orange as Ryan was agonized, and he dropped his weapon and fell off the roof.
  • As Carter helped Ryan, the cobra burned his back again painfully, and it would continue to do so in momentary spells of agony.
  • As he fought Demonite's clone, Ryan was paralyzed in pain by the tattoo, and he was sent rolling on the ground and demorphing by a slash from the clone.
  • As unmorphed Ryan later watched the Rangers' victory, he suddenly collapsed from tattoo pain.
  • In his quarters, Ryan was again examining his tattoo, which was still low on his back but now on the left side.

    815-SSun

  • The tattoo burned morphed Ryan with great intensity, either intermittently or steadily, as he flew the Max Solarzord.
  • As the Solarzord performed numerous flash-flipping attacks, Diabolico noted Ryan couldn't fight the cobra forever.
  • Increasingly agonized, Ryan proceeded to fight and destroy Falkar and Thunderon, but as the Rangers congratulated him, he lay unconscious on his controls, the cobra glowing on his back.
  • Ryan later lay shirtless in an infirmary bed in the Aquabase as Miss Fairweather used a scanner on him.
  • As Miss Fairweather had Ryan roll over to check his breathing, Mitchell was startled to see the cobra now in the middle of Ryan's back.
  • Miss Fairweather told Mitchell the last fight had made the cobra progress very rapidly; the next time he morphed could destroy him.

    816-CStr

  • In the desert, apparently having flown the Solarzord there, Ryan ran up to the palace ruins, having been told of the cobra's lair by Diabolico; he knew that if he destroyed the cobra, he would break the curse over him.
  • In the tomb, Ryan confronted a cobra statue in a side alcove wall, and as he reached for it, the statue blew steam and blasted red lasers from its eyes at the walls, the sparks blasting Ryan back.
  • The statue dissolved into sand and then rematerialized into the cobra monster, who looked like a gray Snizard without a zapper apple.
  • As Ryan struggled to fight the cobra unmorphed, the glowing tattoo was nearly up to his neck, perhaps having moved up during his possible Solarzord voyage to the desert; he then morphed to battle the monster.
  • Grappling Ryan, the cobra told him he'd used up all his energy and time, throwing Ryan into some boxes and urns, where he demorphed painfully.
  • The cobra said now his brother cobra on Ryan's back would finish him off.
  • The cobra tattoo, slightly visible through Ryan's somewhat shredded shirt, glowed and burned him painfully; he took off his shirt and looked as the tattoo flicked its tongue near his neck.
  • The cobra monster shot green energy blasts from his snake hands to help a little, but Ryan leapt aside.
  • Ryan grabbed his discarded Titanium Laser axe with which he'd been fighting while morphed and threw it into the pillar behind the monster, making it fall and crush him.
  • The monster's snake hand went limp and faded into sand, and the tattoo drifted away from Ryan's skin as orange vapor.

    817-OlAs

  • When Olympius infiltrated the Aquabase and told Vypra to attack the gate, Vypra asked Jinxer for some extra muscle, and, ahead of her, he presented Thunderclaw.
  • Thunderclaw was a brown beetle-like monster with two long thorned pincers extending up, and some black back spikes.
  • As the demons waited at the Aquabase's entry gate, the door began to open, and Thunderclaw nearly managed to force it open until the door nearly sealed shut painfully on his fingers.
  • Later, Vypra sent in Thunderclaw to fight the Rangers, but after Carter had morphed, the monster ended up leading the Rangers on a chase before engaging in combat with them.
  • Thunderclaw shot gold energy bolts from his long shoulder pincers.
  • The V-Lancers' Spectra Blast destroyed Thunderclaw.
  • Giant Thunderclaw shot green eyebeams.
  • The Lightspeed Solarzord's cannon blasts destroyed giant Thunderclaw.

    818-FFTP

  • Vypra planned to leave the Aquabase in the dark by destroying Mariner Bay's two power stations, and Loki had complete faith in Shockatron.
  • Shockatron was a somewhat robotic green monster with gold horns and prominent back wings; on his body were visible cables and wires, as well as metallic armor pieces.
  • Shockatron's right eye glowed yellow, the left red.
  • A dark storm cloud brewed over the city, and a purple streak flew down and landed by the power plant below.
  • In the plant, Shockatron terrorized workers in a control room; there, the monster extended a connecting cable from his wrist and plugged into the controls, causing sparks and fires throughout the compound.
  • Shockatron burst out of the wall outside and left for the second plant.
  • Inside the second plant, Shockatron attached one of two port cables on his right wrist to what looked like a metal staircase, making purple energy, but the Rangers confronted him apparently before he could sabotage the plant completely.
  • Slashes from the Titanium Laser axe and V-Lancers, followed by a final slash from Carter, destroyed Shockatron.
  • Giant Shockatron flew at the Lightspeed Megazord, but the Megazord threw him back.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed giant Shockatron.

    Spellbinder
    - mystical demon responsible for Bansheera'sresurrection ceremony
    Spellbinder
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 819-QRet
    Last Appearance: 833-OlAs
Pictures: Spellbinder (shown at right), Spellbinder's symbol

    817-OlAs

  • Olympius fondly noted the planets would soon be in perfect alignment for them to give Queen Bansheera's spirit a bodily form.

    818-FFTP

  • As the planets approached alignment, Olympius said the Rangers had to be destroyed by the time they brought his mother back; Vypra assured him Bansheera would return.

    819-QRet

  • As the planets neared perfect alignment, Vypra noted it was time to go to Mariner Bay for the ceremony; meanwhile, Batlings were carrying around torches in the skull castle.
  • In a darkened dirt basement perhaps in the parking garage Vypra had attacked with quake stakes in 803-TByF, square white pillars were around, some smaller ones being torches, and in the center was a platform with a crystal ball between two white stone pyramids on an altar.
  • Supervising, Spellbinder told the Batlings to hurry, as everything had to be finished before the alignment.
  • Spellbinder was a mostly white monster with a gold head (a beard design along his mouth-covering neck coils) bearing a semicircular gold head covering, and his scepter end was of the same shape, bearing a skull design on either side.
  • On Spellbinder's chest was a gold symbol associated with the ceremony, a triangle tilted a bit to the right, with a dual-pointed arrow almost bisecting the bottom side and out the top point; another bisected the right side and went out the left point.
  • Meanwhile, a black cloud billowed over the city.
  • As the planets aligned into the Grand Cross, which hadn't occurred in 3,000 years, Ryan said this was the day they'd been waiting for, saying when the planets aligned they'd have a ceremony to bring back Queen Bansheera.
  • Now alone in the chamber, Spellbinder cast an incantation, some words and phrases reversed randomly (but shown correctly in the closed captioning): "Oh mighty Queen Bansheera, as the planets collide and dreams near fruition, prepare to come forth from your eons in prison! But first bring your wrath on the humans with malice, destroying the city that sits on your palace!"
  • In front of Spellbinder and beyond the altar over which he waved his scepter were blocks arranged neatly into the shape on his chest.
  • The black cloud over the city, near the top of one particularly tall skyscraper, then began to strike out with gold lightning bolts, blasting nearby buildings, particularly the tall one; from above, the location of the explosions formed a pattern matching Spellbinder's emblem, at the center intersection of which was the parking garage.
  • Spellbinder continued: "Planets are now in perfect formation. Soon Queen Bansheera's spirit will come! Dimensions collide, bringing form to apparition. Good planet, give way to our evil one!"
  • Spellbinder further continued: "Planets aligning, do hear our cry, ours is not to question why. Return to us, please, our queen dearly missed, beginning the rule of the iron fist! So many years we have waited for her, so many years we have not seen but heard. Now with the planets all in a line, please take form, for now is the time!"
  • During the spell, Spellbinder's chest emblem began to glimmer.
  • Spellbinder chanted: "Bansheera, great queen of the darkest dark, rise for us now to make a new mark! In hopes of destroying the human world and raise our dark flag and watch it unfurl... Arise and awaken Bansheera's new shape - show for us now evil's worst fate!"
  • Spellbinder announced: "The time has come for evil to swarm, give Bansheera her bodily form! Forsake all good, all evil endow - Bansheera alive, do it now!"
  • Meanwhile, his symbol and the stone symbol had been shimmering gold, and he then threw his staff, making it stick into a point near the center, and the chamber was aglow in golden light.
  • Green rays of light began to arise from the stone symbol, and as Spellbinder shouted, "Arise!" a giant energy cyclone spewed upward from the symbol, bursting up through the roof of the building as a beam of light connecting the city to the clouds above.
  • As the Rangers infiltrated the ceremony, Spellbinder confronted Carter.
  • Spellbinder was beating Carter in combat until Ryan slashed the monster back with his axe; a beam from Carter's V-Lancer thewn caused Spellbinder to fall, his green eyes dimming, but they then glowed again as he arose.
  • Saying, "The ceremony continues!" Spellbinder grew without his staff, bursting out the roof of the building.
  • Giant Spellbinder called forth, "Queen Bansheera arise, take form in the skies!" and as his chest emblem glimmered, the energy cyclone continued, and the sky billowed with black clouds.
  • Spellbinder told the Rangers their pitiful Zords were no match for him.
  • Giant Spellbinder could shoot a golden energy beam from his palm.
  • Taking a Lightspeed Megazord Saber fire slash to the shoulder, giant Spellbinder grabbed the saber from the Megazord and shoved the Megazord back with a steady hand beam.
  • After Bansheera's head had appeared in the sky, giant Spellbinder shot arcing yellow energy bolts at the Lightspeed Solarzord as it slid by blasting him.
  • Apparently from where his mouth would have been, Spellbinder summoned a gold spiked disc and hurled it, making a large explosion around the Zord.
  • Thinking to stop the energy flow at the temple as Bansheera's tidal wave loomed, Ryan leapt down from the Lightspeed Solarzord to the parking garage.
  • Struggling against the blinding energy cyclone, Ryan managed to smash the altar's crystal ball with his Titanium Laser axe, hurling him back with an enormous explosion.
  • Panicked, giant Spellbinder's eyes stopped glowing, and his chest emblem burst off into broken shards.
  • Amidst the large fiery explosion from below the Lightspeed Solarzord, the golden beam stopped; Bansheera faded away with a scream, and the tidal wave and dark clouds vanished as well just as the planets began to break formation.
  • Stunned, giant Spellbinder was destroyed by the Lightspeed Solarzord's energy blasts.
  • In the fiery basement, Bansheera startled the villains by materializing, her body mostly embedded within a hovering mass; asked what had happened to the rest of her body, she replied the Rangers had done this by ruining the ceremony.

  • Spellbinder was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.

    833-OlUn

  • The aforementioned group was defeated and absorbed by Olympius in his quest to escape the Shadow World, although this process did not permanently excise the spirits' existence.

    Other Sources

  • The preview after 816-CStr showed the kneeling Spellbinder appearing from a a spinning, glowing disc matching his symbol in the skull castle's lair before Loki, Vypra, and Jinxer; at the time, however, Impus was in his cocoon, which would have placed it during the very brief time at the end of 816-CStr before Olympius was born.

    823-FiCr

  • After stealing the yellow Starlight Crystal with advanced spy technology, Vypra went to a warehouse where Batlings and Moleman were working.
  • As Vypra presented their fourth Starlight Crystal, yellow, Moleman congratulated her, as they only needed one more to complete his evil creation to destroy all of Mariner Bay and the Rangers as well.
  • Moleman was a hairy brown mole monster with glasses and armor.
  • Vypra was slightly skeptical, but Moleman said he could do it quite easily if she brought him the fifth crystal, and he placed the yellow one into its spot on his laser's control panel.
  • As Vypra attacked the armored van carrying the fifth crystal, Special Agent Myers was confronted by Moleman, who forced him back into the van, and the doors then slammed themselves shut.
  • After the Rangers had taken all five crystals from Vypra, Myers weakly emerged from the van, and Kelsey presented the crystals to him, but he spun around, and the monster emerged from his body with an orange gleam, leaving the agent to collapse limply to the ground.
  • Holding the tray of crystals, Moleman burrowed into the ground, vanishing.
  • Somewhere in the city, two Batlings drove a camouflage military transport truck up to Moleman's compound, where Batlings waved the truck through a checkpoint, and inside the perimeter, more Batlings transported cases into the warehouse.
  • As Moleman charged up the laser, Kelsey attacked, and Moleman had Batlings fire at her.
  • As Kelsey rollerbladed past the Batlings' lasers, Moleman threw a fireball from his gold claw gauntlets, knocking her over, and Batlings grappled her and pulled off her rollerblades.
  • As Moleman had the Batlings push the laser cart closer to the open warehouse door while Kelsey was restrained to watch, Grandmother Winslow suddenly burst in driving a forklift, and Moleman ordered the Ranger destroyed.
  • Telling her to stay away from his laser after she'd rammed the laser with her forklift, Moleman shoved Grandmother Winslow out of the forklift, but it neared critical temperature, and Moleman fled outside as it exploded.
  • As Olympius and Loki confronted the Rangers in the mountains, Moleman emerged from the ground with a grudge against Yellow Ranger.
  • Moleman blasted yellow energy from his mouth and then charged with a staff.
  • At pointblank range, Kelsey's V-Lancer beam blasted through Moleman, followed by more blasts, and he staggered back in agony.
  • The V-Lancers' Spectra Blast destroyed Moleman.

    824-ChoP

  • To prove he could still create a monster, Loki threw a card into the demon maw, and Cyclopter emerged.
  • Cyclopter was an orange and black cyclops monster with a gold wrestling-like belt; the belt bore an emblem of a two-headed bird closely resembling the Albanian flag.
  • After randomly pounding a few Batlings, Cyclopter turned to the stunned Vypra but then dismissively remarked, "Too easy."
  • Cyclopter asked for someone worthy of challenging him, and Loki had an idea in mind.
  • At a dojo, Cyclopter headbutted a wall to find the Rangers, and they soon arrived.
  • Cyclopter challenged the Rangers to a fight to prove he was the best; Carter blasted the monster with his Rescue Blaster and was mystified when Cyclopter fell back.
  • Cyclopter got up, upset over the unfairness of the use of his weapon, and as Carter had them summon their V-Lancers, he urgently cried for them to hold on.
  • Cyclopter challenged the Rangers to fight him without their weapons, in hand-to-hand combat.
  • After pounding the Rangers in combat, Cyclopter claimed no one could beat him, but Mr. Tamashiro casually replied he could defeat him; Cyclopter laughed at the old man but had a drink carton bounced off his head.
  • As Cyclopter charged, Mr. Tamashiro grabbed the monster by the horn and flipped him down the flight of stone steps below, causing him to retreat in shame.
  • Outside his home in the woods, Mr. Tamashiro was approached by Cyclopter, as well as Batlings in gis; Cyclopter humbly asked to be his student.
  • Loki appeared and stormed up, as he was supposed to be destroying the Power Rangers, but Cyclopter kicked him back, and Loki vanished saying he'd regret this.
  • As Cyclopter pleaded, saying he would never fight for evil again, Mr. Tamashiro soon accepted and was shown training the monster, including going through various moves, Cyclopter lifting a dumbbell of giant boulders over his head, Cyclopter dragging Mr. Tamashiro on a sled of boulders, and Cyclopter sending a crude punching bag flying.
  • While sparring Mr. Tamashiro, Cyclopter was confronted by Chad, quickly defeating him in unmorphed combat, and the sensei and monster left together.
  • On a cliff, a boulder rolled off, and Cyclopter leapt up from below and grasped the falling boulder; as they both fell, the monster spun in a blue energy cyclone, smashing the boulder into bits on the ground, a move Mr. Tamashiro had apparently taught him.
  • As Cyclopter cheered for himself and asked for Mr. Tamashiro to teach him more, the sensei proudly told him there was no more he could teach him, as he was the strongest warrior he had ever seen, even better than himself; pleased, Cyclopter flipped the old man to the ground, not needing him around anymore.
  • Downtown, Cyclopter picked up cars and hurled them around, one into a skyscraper, declaring he was "Cyclopter the Invincible."
  • Pelted in the chest by Lightspeed Cycle lasers, the unfazed monster remarked that it must be mosquito season, fighting the Rangers hand to hand once more.
  • Cyclopter claimed to be the best in the universe, having defeated the four Rangers, but unmorphed Chad walked up and shouted for the monster to leave them alone.
  • After Chad had eventually kicked Cyclopter back at hand-to-hand combat, Cyclopter summoned a forked staff from orange energy.
  • Slashes from morphed Chad's V-Lancer caused Cyclopter to fall and explode glowing yellow, emitting a fiery shockwave.
  • Giant Cyclopter pounded the Omega Megazord with shoulder butts before being flipped.
  • The Omega Megazord's staff slash destroyed giant Cyclopter.

    825-YAgn

  • Downtown, Olympius and Mantevil walked through rubble; Olympius asked where the Rangers were, and Mantevil replied they'd be there.
  • Mantevil was an armored blue mantis monster with shoulder blade-wings, and on his chest was a black infinity symbol.
  • Mantevil pounded the four Rangers, a seemingly overwhelming foe.
  • Mantevil shot unseen blasts from his hand.
  • As Olympius held the captured Unilaser, Mantevil told Olympius now was his chance, to let them have it, and he would fatally wound the four with the weapon's blast.
  • When the day repeated, Kelsey apparently called Carter for help earlier than she had originally, Mantevil's punch to Dana now sent her flying over a railing rather than collapsing in front of the railing, and Mantevil soon charged at the Rangers before rather than after Chad had called for the Rescue Bird.
  • Before telling Olympius to blast the Rangers, Mantevil was not shown blasting the Rangers with his hand blasts as he had originally (although he may have offscreen).
  • As Carter blasted Olympius with lasers as he flew in, Mantevil ran off remembering he had something to do.
  • The Red Mobile Armored Vehicle missiles destroyed Mantevil as he fled.
  • Giant Mantevil wielded a scythe upon being resurrected and enlarged.
  • The Omega Megazord staff's slashes didn't faze giant Mantevil.
  • Giant Mantevil immediately slung spinning gold energy from his scythe.
  • Kelsey's readings found Mantevil was too strong for them now.
  • The Lightspeed Solarzord barrage, followed by the Supertrain Megazord's hand-mounted Gatling Blasters, destroyed giant Mantevil.

    826-ATRO

  • As Olympius had Vypra and Loki shake hands with him somewhere outside Mariner Bay, Vilevine's finger tentacles emerged from the earth and wrapped around Vypra and Loki's legs, slowly pulling them underground as they struggled.
  • Vilevine was a green plant creature wrapped in spiked green vines and with large red shoulder buds.
  • Vilevine later walked in a mountain field and rippled off his own left arm, planting it into the ground as an ambush.
  • When the teens approached the arm, its finger tentacles extended and wrapped around their Morphers, disconnecting and latching around the Morphers with a red blossom on each.
  • Vilevine formed from his arm with green strands.
  • Vilevine told the teens the vines wouldn't release their hold until they'd expelled their spores; at noon (an hour from then), they'd open and spew poisonous spores all over Mariner Bay and destroy everything in their path.
  • Vilevine vanished into the ground as green vines and reported nearby to Olympius.
  • Vypra and Loki eventually surfaced from the sand in the apparently Egyptian desert on the other side of the world, much like it seemed the palace ruins had done upon sinking into the earth millennia ago.
  • Miss Fairweather used a laser to char the blossom on Carter's wrist, but the blossom suddenly healed after the laser had stopped.
  • Joel tried prying his blossom off with pliers, but couldn't budge it.
  • Kelsey thought to isolate themselves so the spores couldn't get out, but Miss Fairweather found on a computer simulation that the spores were so small they couldn't be contained.
  • Minutes before noon, the blossoms began to open slightly.
  • As the teens met up with scientists to use a poison on the pods, Vilevine blasted the case with an orange energy bolt, destroying the liquid contents on the ground, and he vanished after telling them four minutes remained.
  • As the teens flew into space in the Solarzord, Vilevine watched surprised from the city with Batlings, then laughed goodbye.
  • The pods continued to open slightly.
  • At noon, the spores began to release from the blossoms, but the opening of the outer hatch sucked out all the air and spores into space.
  • Once all the spores were gone, the door sealed shut, and the opened blossoms dropped to the floor, smoking away into nothingness.
  • Lasers from the Solarzord shot through the spore cloud, making explosions.
  • To destroy the city himself, Vilevine shot yellow bolts from his shoulder buds, blowing up a building, and he remarked that this was much more fun anyway.
  • Vilevine announced that he claimed this city in the name of Queen Bansheera.
  • Following Battle Booster punches from Carter, the V-Lancers' Spectra Blast destroyed Vilevine.
  • The Omega Missile, followed by two charged slashes from the staff blade, destroyed giant Vilevine.

  • Freezard accompanied Olympius on an attack on the Rangers.
  • Freezard could spray freezing white liquid from his mouth.
  • Freezard was a green and yellow spiked cobra-like monster with yellow markings on his back.
  • Freezard's spray froze Miss Fairweather solid, but she would later be revived.
  • Freezard sucked four of the Rangers into his belly with a blue beam from his mouth.
  • In a snowy dark cold land inside Freezard, the four unmorphed teens were barely conscious and freezing in the snowy cold.
  • Freezard prepared to capture Carter as well, telling him, "Get in mah belly," but Olympius claimed him for himself.
  • Freezard joined Olympius in confronting Vypra and Loki.
  • Fighting Carter, Freezard shot his blue beam, but Carter dodged, and Freezard instead swallowed a sign behind him, and it dropped into his snow world beside the freezing teens.
  • Carter's thermograph scanner was able to view the teens inside Freezard's stomach, although their scale was indeterminate.
  • Freezard froze Carter's Lightspeed Cycle.
  • Freezard snow-blasted morphed Carter, and he struggled to resist.
  • As Freezard snow-blasted again, Carter shot a steady laser stream from his Thermo Blaster into the monster's gut while being frozen.
  • The snow world was heated red, and ice melted off the teens.
  • Soon, Freezard and Carter, burned and frozen respectively, fell back, and the four teens emerged from Freezard in a blue beam as his belly continued to glow painfully.
  • The five Thermo Blaster Booster Mode beams destroyed Freezard.
  • As the sky was dark and filled with auroras courtesy of Olympius, giant Freezard spontaneously appeared and disappeared around the Megazords, at one point descending upside-down from above to strike.
  • Soon, Freezard's giant head appeared next to them, shooting red pulses from his mouth.
  • Back to normal, Freezard pounded the Lightspeed Megazord until the Omega Megazord arrived, at which point the sky wasn't particularly dark anymore.
  • Slashes from the Omega Megazord's staff destroyed giant Freezard.

    832-Sorc

  • Freezard was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.

    828-MMBa

  • Downtown, Infinitor attacked as Olympius watched from above.
  • Infinitor was a scaly red dragon monster with a white face quite similar to Olympius, and he wielded a shield and sword; his bluish chest armor bore a prominent golden infinity symbol consisting of two snakes consuming each other.
  • When the Rangers fired their Rescue Blaster lasers, Infinitor's chest symbol absorbed the blasts with Ranger-colored gleams and then shot back the red blasts.
  • Chad remarked he'd never seen this kind of power before.
  • Infinitor used his shield to reflect the V-Lancers' Spectra Blast back at the Rangers.
  • Infinitor's shield absorbed Joel's green V-Lancer beams, and the monster returned the energy as yellow blasts from his sword.
  • Joel managed to get Olympius to hit Infinitor with a fire blast, allowing the Rangers to hit the monster offguard with the Spectra Blast.
  • Infinitor weakly dropped to his knees, and Olympius teleported them both away.
  • In the skull castle later, Olympius somehow knew the Aquabase scientists were trying to discover a way to defeat Infinitor, and they agreed they had to be destroyed.
  • While Clark and Miss Fairweather were having a picnic in his convertible by the lake, a volley of five missile-like glowing blue projectiles flew up from the direction of the lake and arced down onto the car, making an explosion which left Clark unconscious in the burning car; Miss Fairweather had happened to be out of the car at the time.
  • As Joel and Chad held Miss Fairweather back, Infinitor appeared between them and the car and said that was what happened to scientists who didn't mind their own business.
  • Infinitor could fire a flaming orange blast from his sword, at times (but not always) perhaps charging the sword off his shield before firing.
  • Chad's Mega Battle ice spray froze Infinitor's leg to the ground, and Joel used his Mega Battle buzzsaws to slash Infinitor's shield in half in a Z shape, which the monster found impossible.
  • A buzzsaw slash to Infinitor's chest caused him to fall (with his left leg still iced to the ground) and explode.
  • Giant Infinitor caught the Lightspeed Megazord's ladder punches and electrocuted the Megazord with yellow bolts, perhaps from his chest.
  • Giant Infinitor caught the Solarzord's kick and hurled it aside.
  • Infinitor's shield was whole again by this point.
  • As the Lightspeed Megazord was weakened from the darkness, giant Infinitor charged up his glowing sword yellow, then with a flash of his symbol behind him, slung the flaming yellow energy, defeating the Megazord.
  • The Omega Missile struck giant Infinitor's shield ineffectively.
  • As the Omega Megazord wielded its staff, giant Infinitor blasted it down; as he prepared another blast, the Megazord leapt and grabbed the discarded Lightspeed Megazord Saber.
  • Slashed with the charged saber, giant Infinitor fell right in front of the Omega Megazord, and although an explosion was heard, everything simply went red and the sky lightened before the Omega Megazord posed.

    829-EggC

  • In the skull castle, purple wisps from above flowed into the demon maw's horn, and purple energy from the maw formed an egg in Olympius's hand.
  • The egg was brown and tough on the outside, about five inches long.
  • Diabolico didn't believe the mere egg could destroy the Rangers, but Olympius replied it would soon hatch into a monster and destroy whatever it saw.
  • An imaginary image showed an enormous silhouetted creature floating over Mariner Bay; it had red eyes, was pear-shaped with a horn, and had cobra-shaped tentacles, and it drifted over the flaming city.
  • Olympius told Jinxer the egg had to be hatched underwater, having him care for it.
  • At a tiny pond in Mariner Bay, Jinxer had the Batlings set the egg gently into the water in a wire cage, unable to emphasize its worth enough.
  • When the egg was stolen, Jinxer had them get back and track it from the Skull Cavern.
  • After being thrown by Artie and not caught by Bird Bane, the egg splattered against the ground with green goo.

  • When Jinxer threw in Bird Bane's card and recited an incantation, nothing happened, but suddenly Bird Bane emerged in blue energy, his eyes and head bulging out and spinning around as he flapped his arms and gibbered.
  • Bird Bane slammed into Jinxer, knocking them both down.
  • Jinxer lamented that he'd ordered a warrior and instead gotten a cuckoo bird.
  • In a silly voice, Bird Bane announced he was Bird Bane, king of all winged demon creatures.
  • Bird Bane was a dark bird monster with a pointy gold beak; on his head was a gold crown, and on his chest were the gold V-bolts associated with the demons' monsters, particularly the Troika monsters.
  • Jinxer gasped and apologized to his majesty, not having known.
  • When Batlings retrieved ordinary eggs rather than Olympius's monster egg from a supermarket, Bird Bane angrily swatted the cartons from them and shoved over the shopping carts, remarking he shouldn't have sent bats to do a bird's job.
  • As the teens confronted Bird Bane, Carter asked what was so important about that egg, and Bird Bane wouldn't tell.
  • Kelsey retorted they didn't really care and were wasting their time, and the teens derided the egg, prompting Bird Bane to protest that when the monster hatched, it would destroy all of Mariner Bay.
  • Bird Bane's eyes bulged when he realized he'd messed up.
  • Bird Bane had them retreat when they were inundated with fliers ransoming the egg for $20,000 at the dock at noon.
  • Bird Bane and Batlings went to the pier disguised as man in dark suits and hats, with Bird Bane's human form having a bushy brown beard.
  • As Artie made a getaway on a jetski with the briefcase of money and dropped the fake rubber ball painted to look like the egg, Bird Bane angrily burst into his monster form.
  • Tripped onto his face by Carter as he prepared to go after Carter, Bird Bane hurt his "beak bone."
  • Bird Bane clamped his jaws onto Carter's arm, and the others tried to pry him off.
  • Sent after Artie by Bird Bane, the Batlings made a concentrated effort to get back the briefcase of money, which was filled with $50, $20, and $1 bills (all but the $1 bills in the new design).
  • Bird Bane pounded the Rangers, stomping on Red Ranger, and he remarked that everyone said the Rangers are so tough, but he didn't get it.
  • Kelsey threw a white rope which wrapped around Bird Bane's beak to shut him up, and she threw him with it.
  • Bird Bane stomped angrily and told Kelsey she was making him start to molt, something she didn't want to see.
  • As Bird Bane charged, Chad's sprayer weapon mist apparently froze his beak shut briefly.
  • Bird Bane threw five feathers, each piercing into a Rangers' chest, and they soon burst with sparks, knocking the Rangers back; each feather was black with a white center, bearing a yellow red-irised eye.
  • As Bird Bane was beating the five Rangers, Artie called out and hurled the egg; as Bird Bane ran for it, the Rangers destroyed him with the Unilaser in a burst of golden sparkles, although chunks fell nearby as well.
  • Recreated in titan size by an advanced growth card, Bird Bane had shoulder armor and a silver armored helmet.
  • Blasts from the Supertrain Megazord's red shoulder-mounted Gatling Blaster didn't faze titan-sized Bird Bane.
  • Bird Bane could fly, slashing the Supertrain in passing.
  • As Bird Bane flying headbutted, he was blasted back pointblank by the shoulder Gatling Blasters, and his smoking armor was left cracked in places.
  • Titan-sized Bird Bane was destroyed by the hand-mounted Gatling Blasters.

    831-Last

  • Memorase attacked downtown, blowing up buildings.
  • Memorase was a black, white, and gold armored warrior with three helmet prongs, a seashell belt buckle (like a Piranhatron), a gold cape, and a dual-bladed staff.
  • Memorase twirled his staff, one blade glowing red, and then shot the energy as a pulse at a nearby four-story building which he remarked he'd never liked, blowing it up.
  • With a flying blue cloudy background, Memorase spun his staff with both ends glowing and shot a wave of red energy, making buildings all over explode.
  • Memorase remarked he loved this job.
  • When the Rangers rushed in, they only got his cape, but he then dove down striking.
  • Memorase rapidly deflected the Rangers' blaster lasers with his staff blade.
  • Memorase spoke with an Australian accent.
  • To show the Rangers firepower, Memorase slung red energy waves from his staff.
  • Laughing when the Rangers told him he didn't have what it took to make them give up, Memorase held out his staff blade and made a blaring siren noise (like Decibat).
  • Clutching their heads, the teens demorphed and dropped to their knees, and Memorase vanished, leaving the teens with no memories of each other or their experience as Rangers.
  • Miss Fairweather later explained that Memorase had blocked certain brain paths, but her memory restoration program freed the memory paths by triggering thoughts of the teens' lives as Rangers.
  • Memorase had been sent by Diabolico.
  • From a rooftop after Diabolico had told him to destroy the city, Memorase shot purple energy from his staff blade, blowing up numerous buildings once more.
  • The five Thermo Blasters destroyed Memorase.
  • Memorase didn't have his cape upon being resurrected and enlarged.
  • When giant Memorase slung energy from his pike, the Lightspeed Solarzord absorbed the fiery explosion into its panels, and its cannon blasts then destroyed him.
  • Before falling and exploding, Memorase couldn't believe he'd been defeated.

    Gatekeeper
    - entity guarding gateway between skullcastle and Shadow World
    Gatekeeper
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 832-Sorc
    Last Appearance: 833-OlUn

    832-Sorc

  • After Olympius had unlocked red double doors deep within the skull castle, they swung open into an orange mist, and the Gatekeeper emerged.
  • The Gatekeeper was an armored warrior-priest whose right half was white and gold, and his left was a hideously mutated blue and gold; his staff, with a skull design and long curving horns, was split into white and blue just the same.
  • Gatekeeper spoke, "I am the Gatekeeper of the Shadow World. Do you wish to enter my domain, Prince Olympius?"; when he replied yes, Gatekeeper told him to step through the portal.
  • Olympius, followed by Gatekeeper, stepped into the orange mist, and the doors were closed somehow.
  • Olympius wanted Gatekeeper to lure the Power Rangers into the Shadow World, and he bowed that he was at his service.
  • Gatekeeper stabbed his staff into the ground, and the skull design in it glowed red, transporting him to downtown Mariner Bay.
  • There, Gatekeeper wondered what would get the Rangers' attention, and he thought to blow stuff up.
  • From the gem in his staff, Gatekeeper fired an orange energy ray which blew up a section of building.
  • As Gatekeeper told the arriving Lightspeed Rangers to give it their best shot, he was joined by Batlings.
  • The Rangers blasted, but the villains all vanished with gold energy.
  • On a railing above, Gatekeeper delivered a personal invitation from Olympius, and a golden ray of energy from his staff beamed the Rangers up.
  • In the Shadow World, the Rangers flew through the opening red doors as five balls of Ranger-colored light, and the doors then shut behind them as they landed just inside.
  • As the Rangers attacked him and Olympius, Gatekeeper hit the end of his staff against the ground, sending an explosion through the ground to the Rangers.
  • As Olympius spoke of old friends to keep the Rangers company, Gatekeeper spoke, "Spirits of monsters and ghouls of old, arise from your slumber and do what you're told!"
  • As Gatekeeper held up his staff, red energy flew out from the skull, white rays beaming out from the eyes of both sides of skull.
  • On the horizon faded in fourteen monsters in a line, half previously seen, although Joel and Gatekeeper would refer to them collectively as monsters they'd already destroyed.
  • Gatekeeper told his army it was time for their revenge, and another red pulse from his staff prompted the zombie-like monsters to lurch forward.
  • The Thermo Blasters in booster mode shattered Gatekeeper's staff, and as the monsters began to lurch toward the villains instead, Gatekeeper cried he had no control over them without his staff, and they fled on foot.
  • As Olympius cowered behind him, Gatekeeper said they'd never stop, and Olympius held up the key and summoned the doors as instructed, but an image of Diabolico above suddenly stole the key, trapping them inside.

    833-OlUn

  • A weakened Olympius wandered through the wasteland before finding Gatekeeper lying unconscious partially buried in the earth, and Olympius woke him up.
  • Gatekeeper couldn't believe they'd been betrayed by one of their own, and now they were stuck there amongst the remains of defeated monsters, left there to wallow in their grief forever, but Olympius refused to accept it.
  • Flickering in the sky, Jinxer told Olympius he'd found a way out in an ancient book: he had to absorb the power of all the defeated monsters.
  • After the prince had absorbed some monsters and morphed into a new form, Gatekeeper begged Olympius to share the monsters' powers with him, but Olympius shoved him aside, saying they were his alone.
  • Nearby, Olympius held Gatekeeper close to leave, and they emerged into the real world where Jinxer greeted them both.
  • When Olympius grew to titan size during the villains' fight with the Rangers, titan-sized Gatekeeper joined him briefly but was then never shown again.

    832-Sorc

  • A previously unseen monster with pipes sticking out from him was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.
  • The pipe monster shot an unseen blast at the Rangers after being blasted.

    Aquafiend

    Aquafiend
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: 834-NepD
    Last Appearance: (face) 840-FLs2

    834-NepD

  • As Diabolico planned to steal King Neptune's trident, Loki reminded Diabolico they, the demons, couldn't go in the water, so Diabolico planned to summon the one demon who could go underwater, Aquafiend.
  • Aquafiend lived in a lagoon near Mariner Bay.
  • As Diabolico called beside the lagoon for Aquafiend to rise, the monster emerged and told Diabolico he was at his service.
  • Aquafiend was a purple-skinned turtle monster with a green shell, and around his neck was a necklace of three skulls.
  • Told to steal Neptune's trident and drain the water from Mariner Bay, Aquafiend returned to the water.
  • At his sunken ship in the bay, King Neptune was sleeping when Aquafiend surreptitiously approached and swam off with his trident.
  • Underwater in a pond, Aquafiend located a magic spot and stuck in the trident, draining the water.
  • As morphed Chad swam down, Aquafiend grabbed him and said not even a Power Ranger was going to stop him.
  • Aquafiend blasted a green energy bolt from his mouth.
  • Above water, Aquafiend could spin around while mouthblasting outward.
  • The five Thermo Blasters in Booster Mode destroyed Aquafiend, but a growth card resurrected and enlarged him.
  • As giant Aquafiend towered menacingly, King Neptune's trident began to glow blue and grow, causing Chad to drop it, and giant Aquafiend then picked up the enlarged weapon.
  • The Omega Missile, followed by a charged staff slash, destroyed giant Aquafiend, at which point the water resumed flowing everywhere and the trident returned to normal size.

    837-WrQn

  • On the "skirt" of Bansheera's monster form were various monster faces, including Aquafiend.

    Arachnor
    - spider monster, allied with demons togather food for hatchlings
    Arachnor
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: (?) 832-Sorc
    Last Appearance: (face) 840-FLs2

    832-Sorc

  • The future Arachnor was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.

    833-OlUn

  • The aforementioned group was defeated and absorbed by Olympius in his quest to escape the Shadow World.

    835-WebW

  • When Diabolico needed a monster, Loki adding he'd been looking for Jinxer all day, Arachnor introduced herself after descending from above on a web strand.
  • Arachnor was a yellow and black spider monster with some web designs on her head, and her demon-like "wings" were actually spider legs from her back strung together with webbing.
  • Loki, and apparently Diabolico as well, were not familiar with Arachnor.
  • Arachnor claimed to be able to gather data from the Rangers' weapons, rendering them useless, and Diabolico replied she had his attention.
  • A large webbed sack of perhaps bowling ball-sized whitish eggs descended, and Arachnor explained her babies were ready to hatch soon, and they would need nourishment; the large number meant they would need much to eat.
  • Diabolico replied there was plenty of food in Mariner Bay, making Arachnor agree they had a deal.
  • From a giant web under a bridge between two buildings downtown, Arachnor lifted many people up with her web strands (which were initially blue energy), catching them in the giant web.
  • As the Rangers fought her Batlings, Arachnor leapt down and scanned the weapons in an alien viewscreen type display in her eyes, scanning the Rescue Blasters in baton mode and then blaster mode.
  • Arachnor told the Rangers their weapons were very high tech.
  • Arachnor quickly scanned the Unilaser as it was aimed at her, and she then teleported away with yellow streaks when it was fired at her; the web was gone as well.
  • In another city plaza, Arachnor dangled from a web in her back over fleeing people and shot her web beam from her right arm, pulling someone in before Kelsey slashed him free.
  • Surrounded, Arachnor told the Rangers they'd chased away all the food, summoning Batlings.
  • During the fight, Arachnor caught each of the four Rangers in webbing, then caused them to vanish in blue energy.
  • As Carter neared the site, Arachnor hid to complete her set but then got a better idea.
  • Arachnor morphed with blue energy strands into a yellow and black tarantula on the wall; when Carter passed through, the spider dropped from a branch overhead onto the back of his jacket, hiding in a back pouch as he returned to the Aquabase.
  • At an abandoned old warehouse with errant webbing outside, a giant web across the ceiling held all of Arachnor's victims, including the four teens with webbing over their mouths; in the center of the web dangled Arachnor's sack of eggs.
  • Inside the base, Arachnor crawled on the ceiling in monster form, remarking on the abundance of "yummies."
  • Crawling on the ceilings and walls, Arachnor used his webbing to abduct techs from throughout the Aquabase, including Captain Mitchell and eventually Miss Fairweather, until there was apparently no one left in the base.
  • As the spiders began to squirm within their glowing eggs, Arachnor told her babies to come and nourish themselves so they could grow big and strong.
  • Soon, the tarantula-like spiders began to hatch, crawling out after splitting open their eggs with gold fissures.
  • Arachnor told her babies they would all soon be powerful warriors.
  • A blast from Carter's Rescue Blaster caused the egg sack to fall to the floor in a flaming heap, causing Arachnor to cry out for her eggs, although the whereabouts of all the already hatched babies remains unknown.
  • Carter slammed Arachnor outside to fight after deflecting her web beam with his baton.
  • Outside, Arachnor swung with a web cable attached to her back, swinging off a girder tower and shooting yellow energy pulses from her claw arm.
  • After Carter had switched to armor mode, Arachnor was unable to scan the Trans-Armor Cycle, as its design was too complex.
  • Flung forward by the flying tires from the Trans-Armor Cycle after her web line had been cut, Arachnor was struck in midair with lasers, destroying her in a rumbling chain of explosions.

    837-WrQn

  • On the "skirt" of Bansheera's monster form were various monster faces, including Arachnor.

    Treevil
You are here: Who / Monsters / PRLR monsters
    First Appearance: (?) 832-Sorc
    Last Appearance: 836-Lime
Pictures: Treevil card, Treevil (shown at right)

    832-Sorc

  • The future Treevil was among an armada of defeated monsters awakened in a zombie-like state by Gatekeeper to battle the Rangers in the Shadow World.

    833-OlUn

  • The aforementioned group was defeated and absorbed by Olympius in his quest to escape the Shadow World, although this process did not permanently excise the spirits' existence.

    836-Lime

  • While Bansheera was occupied with her transformation, Vypra secretly ordered Jinxer to make her a monster, and he reluctantly agreed.
  • Jinxer threw a card into a tree trunk; the card's entire back side showed a white silhouette of an evil tree with red fruits, and two parallel white lightning bolts and a moon in the sky.
  • Jinxer's incantation caused the card to glow white and Treevil to emerge from the tree.
  • Treevil was a monster of glarled brown wrapped branches.
  • Treevil bowed he was at Vypra's service.
  • Downtown, people evacuated buildings as Treevil threw exploding oversized acorns, damaging and destroying buildings around him.
  • In a plaza another day, Treevil formed from an acorn on a tree, making people flee in panic, and he proceeded to fling people about with his exploding acorns.
  • As the Rangers arrived, Treevil grabbed a small tree and smashed the Rangers with it.
  • After summoning his Mega Battle armor, Joel lunged with his saws, cutting the tree in half and eventually striking Treevil.
  • Stunned, Treevil tossed an acorn at Joel, knocking him back and causing his armor to dissolve, and the monster vanished after throwing another acorn at the leaping Kelsey.
  • Perhaps days or weeks later, Treevil was still on the loose.
  • At a water plant, Treevil attacked once more with his exploding acorns.
  • Fired upon by the Spectra Blast of the four Rangers' V-Lancers, Treevil caught the energy sphere and hurled it back at them.
  • Joined by Dana, the Rangers again fired, and when Treevil attempted to hold the Spectra Blast sphere, its gold V flashed, blowing the monster up.
  • Giant Treevil, resurrected and enlarged by a growth card, now merely growled rather than speaking.
  • Giant Treevil used a brown tendril to open a fissure in the ground.
  • The Lightspeed Megazord Saber destroyed giant Treevil.
