- son of Captain Mitchell, taken in childhood by Diabolico, returned on 20th birthday
- former or current Titanium Ranger (801-OpLs through 840-FLs2, also 933-TFLs)
On what happened to be the day before the 20th
birthday of the lost Ryan Mitchell, Carter
agonizingly tested the Titanium
Morpher, which Miss Fairweather
told Captain Mitchell they shouldn't
continue testing, as the circuitry was too powerful for an ordinary
At midnight, Captain Mitchell looked at a picture of
himself with more hair holding young Dana,
perhaps three or four, as young Ryan, perhaps five or six (wearing gray
and black), did a kick toward the camera.
Although Dana said she'd
been too young to remember very much of her big brother, she knew Ryan
would have been 20 today.
Later, as a tech
turned off the lights to the lab, Ryan apparently swam up to the Aquabase and into the pool room, as though
there were free passage from the sea into the base through the pool.
Ryan wore a black wetsuit, having been swimming
with the aid of flippers.
Manuevering through the Ops/Transport dome, Ryan came to the door
to the captain's quarters.
Wish a flashlight, Ryan looked around inside,
found the desk, and opened the drawer, grabbing the key as though he
knew what he was looking for, if not where to find it as well.
With the drawer open, Ryan paused to turn over a
framed picture within, finding the photo of himself and Dana as children with Mitchell.
Running his thumb delicately over Dana and Mitchell's faces, Ryan then glared seeing
himself as a child; he would apparently end up taking the photo from the
frame, although the theft of that particular item went unseen.
Ryan then shone his flashlight on the safe and
opened it, moving things aside and taking the Titanium Morpher once he'd found it,
apparently having been looking for it.
Ryan locked the safe, looked at the Morpher, and left.
As the Rangers
regrouped while fighting Vypra the next morning,
she announced they were about to meet their match, and Ryan, morphed as
the Titanium Ranger, descended
from a thundering blue energy cloud before them; how he was able to use
the Titanium Morpher is unknown, given
the inability of an ordinary human to endure its power.
When asked by morphed Dana
who he was, morphed Ryan replied he was their worst nightmare.
Backing up as Titanium approached, the Rangers told him to stop, not wanting any
trouble, but he drew his Titanium Laser
and blasted them before pounding them with his bare hands.
Ryan laughed upon sweeping morphed Dana and then flip-kicking onto her stomach and
making her groan painfully.
retreated outside onto the roof, where they aimed the Unilaser at Ryan as he followed.
Carter told Ryan to stop
right there, but he transformed his weapon into axe mode in response; Carter fired, but the axe blade absorbed the
blast, and Ryan slung it back, blasting them as he laughed.
Watching the Rangers
retreat, Ryan told them it wouldn't be over until they were all
congratulated Ryan, saying he'd known he would be the perfect addition
to their team; this seemed to imply that Ryan had been previously living
apart from the demons.
With Ryan's new powers, Diabolico laughed that the city would soon be
theirs, and Ryan agreed, very soon.
In the skull
castle, Ryan was bowing in black clothes in the presence of the demons.
Diabolico told Ryan
he'd mastered the powers of the Titanium
Morpher, proving himself worthy of being the Titanium Ranger, and now they'd use
the powers to take back their homeland.
Soon, morphed Ryan landed explosively downtown;
curious bystanders approached until he began to roar with evil laughter.
Arriving in the Rover, the teens
asked Ryan who he was, but he replied, "It doesn't matter anymore."
Joel pleadingly told Ryan
they didn't want to have to hurt him, but he laughed that their powers
were no match for his.
After they had morphed, Carter told Ryan not to make them do something
they didn't want to do, but he told them to give it their best shot,
pounding them easily.
Ryan was somewhat surprised when the Rangers summoned the new V-Lancers.
The Rangers fought
axe-wielding Ryan, at one point surrounding him after knocking his axe
away from him, but he fought all five off at once before Kelsey and Carter slashed
As Ryan saw his axe nearby, Carter shouted, "Don't do it!" but as he ran, they
prepared their V-Lancers to fire.
Ryan grabbed his Titanium Laser and aimed, at which point
the Rangers fired the Spectra Blast, making
a large explosion which the Rangers
expected to be fatal.
Ryan fell amidst the flames and rubble, but he
soon slammed his hand down in frustration and got up laboriously.
As Ryan turned, his visor was open, revealing his hazel
Carter ordered, "Stand
down before this escalates! Don't force us to destroy you!" but Ryan
nodded his visor shut and
approached weakly with his blaster aimed.
Ordered not to fire, the Rangers left in disgust as Ryan called out for
them to come back, not finished with them, but he was too pained to
Learning that Titanium Ranger was Ryan, Dana asked Mitchell how that could be, saying Ryan
had been killed in that car crash, but Mitchell told her Ryan had not
died, recounting the story of their crash.
Late one cold night during a rainstorm, Mitchell had been driving the two
children home from visiting their grandmother; in the back seat, the
children played with the new toys their grandmother had given them:
young Ryan had a toy fire truck.
As Mitchell had
looked back at the kids for a second, a semi cab had come around the
corner, honked, and Mitchell swerved
off the road into a railing on the edge of the nearby cliff; just before
the car went over, Mitchell dove
through the backseat and out the rear door, tumbling with his kids and
managing to grab a root sticking out of the rock face, saving them from
falling to their dooms.
Below, the car exploded against the ground far

flew up to Mitchell and appeared,
holding the unconscious but corporeal Ryan.
Stunned, Mitchell begged Diabolico to give him back his son, but the
demon replied, "You will not see your son again until his 20th birthday.
He is mine now."; as he flew down toward the earth as energy, Mitchell screamed, "Nooooo!!"
In the skull
castle, Diabolico told Ryan his father
was going to let him die, but it was he who had saved him that night,
asking if he remembered, and Ryan nervously agreed, uneasy from Diabolico's touch.
Meanwhile, the other demons watched, Vypra sinisterly pleased.
Diabolico said it was
his daughter Mitchell loved, while he
had tossed away Ryan like trash, and it was Ryan who had suffered all
these years; again, this was suggestive of Ryan living apart from the demons over the years, as Diabolico wouldn't have reminded Ryan of his
suffering under his own care.
Ryan said with determination it was time to repay
him, but Diabolico urged patience, saying he
would eventually have the chance to destroy his father.
At sunrise the next day, morphed Ryan walked on a
rooftop overlooking the city; he opened his visor and looked at the photograph
from the frame which had been in Mitchell's desk.
Crumpling and dropping the photo, Ryan said he'd
been no father to him and would regret it; he then closed his visor and dove off the building.
Below, Ryan walked downtown as people fled; he
then pulled out his Titanium Laser and
blasted directly at people, apparently shooting one guy in the chest,
smashing him back against a pillar.
Ryan shot at another two people, knocking them
down, and as he went to shoot one of the two while they were down,
morphed Dana deflected the blast with her baton
and had the relatively uninjured victims flee.
Ryan knew Pink Ranger was his sister, wanting
to pay her back, and he fought her.
Dana protested that no
brother of hers could be as evil as he was, and he agreed, unless his
father had let him fall from a cliff to save his younger sister.
Ryan kept kicking, flipping, and hurling Dana, trying to slice her with his axe.
Dana insisted there was
nothing Dad could have done, but Ryan retorted she was the one
who had survived that night; she sighed that now it was over.
Ryan's remark that
Dana (emphasis placed on "you" as he spoke to
her) was the one who had survived seemed to imply Ryan had not.
As Ryan aimed his blaster at her, Dana sheathed her baton and told him, "He loved
you!" reminding Ryan he'd wanted to grow up to be a fireman just like
Ryan shouted for her to be quiet, but she urged
him to remember, and he nearly did until the teens ran up, prompting Ryan to axe-butt her in
the back of the head and run away.
Pausing to take a breath and demorph, Ryan approached the cliff
where the car accident had occurred years ago.
As Ryan looked over the cliff, Mitchell was there, asking if he
remembered; Ryan replied defensively he'd been told Mitchell hadn't cared what happened to
him, letting him fall while saving Dana.

Shouting that Mitchell had only saved Dana and had let him fall, Ryan tackled Mitchell, sending them both falling over
the edge until Mitchell grabbed the
same root while catching Ryan's hand.
Dangling, Ryan remembered slipping, Mitchell telling him to hold on, Mitchell calling for someone to help, Diabolico appearing and issuing his demand, and
then his fall.
With determination, Ryan climbed up Mitchell and grabbed onto the root as
When the root started to budge, Mitchell said it wouldn't support both of

then let go.

Diabolico told Ryan

Enraged as Ryan walked away from him, Diabolico swore he would pay for this.
Fairweather worked in the lab, a computer voice announced an
intruder alert, and she watched as Ryan rode up on the empty Rover lift.
When guards with batons rushed in and grappled
Ryan, Miss Fairweather called them
off, and Ryan walked away calmly.

objected that there was a place for him here at Lightspeed, but Ryan replied that for years,
his mind had been poisoned by hate and fear, and he didn't know if there
was any good left in him; he was leaving Mariner Bay to find out who he was.
As Ryan left, Mitchell retrieved the Titanium Morpher in a small silver case
from his desk drawer and caught up with Ryan.
Ryan, "You may not know who you are, but trust me. I do. You're not
evil."; somewhere inside Ryan, he said, was an ocean of goodness.
The day Ryan realized he was truly good, Mitchell wanted him to open the silver
box; Ryan took it thoughtfully and left.
Dana arrived just in time
to watch Ryan leaving in a lift.
Ryan was walking with a knapsack by a playground
when a feather landed in front of him, and he picked it up happily,
looking for its source.
Ryan's comfort with life on the road was yet
another hint that he had grown up alone rather than with the demons.
Ryan happily watched the kids play; a young girl
(Katie) playing with her brother sent a ball rolling to Ryan accidentally, and the brother (Jimmy)
apologized, explaining his little sister was always tagging along and
Ryan told the boy they had to stick together,
saying he'd miss her despite the kid's skepticism.
Ryan had Jimmy give his sister the feather, and
he did, pleasing Katie, making Ryan smile.
As Ryan walked up to a bus station, the man in
front of him bought two tickets for Van Nuys, which was essentially a
drive to Los Angeles/Angel Grove.
Ryan looked at a schedule in confusion, almost
like he didn't know how to read; he gave up and sat on a bench, where an
old woman reading a book was seated.
When asked, Ryan replied he didn't know where he
was going; she winked to follow his heart and he'd go right where he was
supposed to be.
Ryan pondered as the woman left.
Later, Ryan prepared to board the 6:00 bus to Van
Nuys, having a ticket, when he caught sight of a news report of Lightspeed's declaration of a city-wide
emergency due to exploding feathers.
The bus driver honked for Ryan to get on, but he
left, deciding to stay as he remembered the children and the feather.
As the family walked across a bridge on the east
side of town just before nightfall, Jimmy told his mom about the man
(Ryan) giving him a feather to give to Katie; just then, Ryan ran up.
Sprinting for the family, Ryan dropped his bag,
and his silver box rolled out.
Ryan grabbed the feather from Katie's bookbag and
hurled it off the bridge, having them get down; after falling a bit, the
feather glowed blue and exploded.
The mother thanked Ryan, and the kids thought of
him as a hero before she had them go home; they waved as they left.
Standing alone on the bridge, Ryan remembered Mitchell's ocean speech and opened the
silver box, which contained his glowing Titanium Morpher.

After Ryan had chased away Demonite, Falkar, and Thunderon and then demorphed, the teens congratulated him.
Dana hugged Ryan and hoped

where he was supposed to be.

The Solarzord was
ready, but it was useless without a Titanium Ranger, Miss Fairweather explained as Ryan
happened to hear from the hallway in passing.
As Ryan watched, Mitchell hoped they could function
without it, and Miss Fairweather
returned the gold disc to its case.
Sent to fight Falkar and Thunderon, the teens were confronted by Ryan in the hallway, but
Mitchell shook his head, telling the
Rangers to go.
As the Rangers
battled Falkar and Thunderon, Ryan heard as Mitchell called Miss Fairweather to Ops, stat.
Outside Ops, Ryan

as Mitchell was silent, Miss Fairweather told Ryan to position

talking about the crazy stunt he'd pulled.

Back in Ryan's room after speaking with Mitchell, Miss Fairweather scanned the tattoo again and then
apologized, saying she'd never seen anything like it.
Fairweather told him he should be fine, as long as he didn't morph.
As the teens later ran
by for an alert, Ryan emerged from his quarters and asked what was going on; Joel said Diabolico was
back, but Miss Fairweather told Ryan
to get rest.
Anxiously lying on his bed and fidgeting with a
slim book, Ryan got up and watched the Rangers battle Troika
in a view which he pulled up on his communications monitor.
When the teens returned
in defeat after their skirmish with Troika,
Ryan found Dana in the hallway to check on her,
but she happily told him to get some rest.
Frustrated, Ryan planned to think of a way to
stop the cobra; as two techs passed, the girl proposed to the guy
that they go to the desert.
Inspired, Ryan scaled some sort of access ladder,
apparently to go to the Solarzord as he'd
done with the pool room lift in 815-SSun.
In the desert, Ryan ran up to the palace ruins, having been told of the cobra's lair by Diabolico; he knew that if he destroyed the cobra, he would break the curse
Ryan looked at the small fissure in the ground,
then climbed down the rope which was apparently still there from the nomads from 801-OpLs.
As Ryan looked around, the torches in the tomb lit, startling him.
Ryan confronted a cobra statue in a side alcove
wall, and as he reached for it, the statue blasted lasers from its eyes
at the walls, the sparks blasting Ryan back.
The statue dissolved into sand and then

As Ryan struggled to fight the cobra unmorphed, the glowing tattoo was nearly up to his
neck, perhaps having moved up during his possible Solarzord voyage to the desert; he then morphed to battle the monster.

Ryan grabbed his discarded Titanium Laser axe with which he'd been

making it fall and crush him, and the tattoo drifted away from Ryan's
skin as orange vapor.
As Diabolico blasted

In the galley following Diabolico's destruction, bowls of chips and
pretzels were being poured by the chef; the teens and Ryan were giddy.
proposed a toast for Mariner Bay, but the
alarm sounded, and they rushed out.
Downtown, the sky thundered as the six teens pulled up in the Rover.
With a purple cloudy pulse, Queen Bansheera's hazy blue face was visible in
a descending blue billowing cloud; she spoke, "Hello, Rangers."
Ryan was surprised to see Bansheera, having thought she'd been destroyed;
the teens were unfamiliar with the sight of
her, so he told them her name, saying she was worse than ten Diabolicos.
mentioned her son, Carter was startled, and
Ryan replied, "Impus."
As the teens chased the
cocoon, it blasted a building above and knocking rubble down on
construction workers below whom Carter sent
Ryan to help while the others morphed.
In the villains'
wake after Olympius had captured the others,
unmorphed Ryan ran up to the weak Carter.
In Ops with Carter and Mitchell, Ryan had been too young to
remember much about Olympius (reinforcing the
idea that he had grown up apart from the demons); he did describe, however, a bit
about Impus and the Star Power's line of ownership.

At the beach on the teens' day off, Ryan was buried up to his neck in
sand by Dana, telling Kelsey and Chad he wished
he could try the waves with them.
When the Rangers
summoned the Rescuezords to fight Shockatron after Mitchell had emerged safely from a
building explosion, Ryan remained below with his father rather than
summoning the Solarzord.
Later, back at the beach, Ryan went surfing with
In response to a billowing black cloud, Dana and Ryan met up in Ops as the others arrived from various outings.
Fairweather observed that the planets
were falling into a very rare alignment which hadn't occurred in 3,000
years, Ryan said this was the day they'd been waiting for, saying when
the planets aligned they'd have a ceremony
to bring back Queen Bansheera.
As lightning bolts blasted the city, the Rangers deployed the Rescuezords for emergency rescues, but
Ryan, inspecting the monitor in Ops,
observed that the explosions were forming a pattern.
Ryan pinpointed the intersection point, realizing
that had to be where the ceremony was, and Mitchell dispatched him.
At the parking garage, Ryan sneaked into a door
and found the ceremony chamber below.
As Ryan spied on the ceremony, Vypra attacked Ryan from behind, beating him into
submission before Batlings grappled him.
Ryan was being held by Batlings as Mitchell and then Kelsey tried to call him on his Morpher.

As Vypra and Loki explored the desert ruins, Ryan watched over a dune with
digital binoculars, wearing a black knapsack.
Ryan approached and peered down after the two had

behind an urn after being hurled back by the departing Vypra, Loki, and Diabolico.
Ryan listened as Vypra
and Loki enlisted Diabolico's help to get revenge against Olympius, and he watched as the three vanished
into the sky.
At the tomb, Ryan climbed down the rope and then
tried to call the Rangers but couldn't get
through; he likely should have tried calling before going in.
Ryan called with the urgent news of Diabolico's release, but his signal faded.
Later, Ryan drew all of the heiroglyphics off the
tomb walls into a lined notebook with a
pen, thinking the answer to capturing Queen
Bansheera had to be in the symbols.
Walking around once done, Ryan thought he'd
copied all of them; outside, he then planned to find someone to tell him
what they meant, wandering off into the desert.
Ryan wandered through the desert weakly and
rolled down a small dune, passing out from weakness.
Ryan awoke in a lone tent home in the desert with
a thin old man.
Ryan was looking for the Sorcerer of the Sands; he pulled
out a slender ancient brown tome, most definitely not his notebook he'd
had upon leaving the tomb, and had been
told the sorcerer was the only one who could read its ancient writings.
In awe, the man approached, but Ryan would only
show it to the sorcerer, so the man offered Ryan a glass of liquid which
caused him to fall asleep.
In the morning, Ryan awoke and blearily searched
his bag and found his tome on the table nearby.
Asked if he'd like another cup of tea, Ryan
firmly rejected the offer, saying he needed the Sorcerer of the Sands without
whom he'd never find a way to beat Queen
The man was alarmed, and a wise old voice told
the Ryan not to frighten the man, and it took
Ryan a moment to realize the crow had spoken.
Saying Ryan should know who he was by now, the
crow materialized into the Sorcerer of the Sands.
Calling himself the Titanium Ranger, Ryan said they were
trying to send Bansheera back to the ancient
tomb, and the Sorcerer examined his book again.
The Sorcerer asked if Ryan had the key and, when he didn't know of a key, declared the Golden Key made all the difference; he
explained that with it, he could read the spells easily, showing him an
image of the key.
To see what the stones had to tell them, the Sorcerer tossed some colored gems
into a gold bowl and waved his hand over them, causing them to form a
shape, but they scattered when Ryan reached curiously, and the Sorcerer replied his friends were
in trouble, using golden sparkles to show him in the mirror.
In the Shadow
World, the Rangers were in a tunnel
with numerous monsters on the other side
of a rock barrier.
To help, the Sorcerer released from a chest a
ball of light which the Rangers followed to
safety after the Sorcerer had
told them Ryan was trying to help them.
As the Sorcerer soon read the ancient
spell from the tome, a sudden burst of fiery energy washed out from the
book, reducing the Sorcerer
into sand and charring the book beyond recognition.

Not long after the Golden Key's flight into the tomb, Ryan was investigating within,
wearing his pack.
Finding a formerly blank block, Ryan touched the
new imprint of a key, and the figure turned
into the real Golden Key, hovering in front
Ryan recognized the Golden Key as the one the Sorcerer had told him about,
saying it was the key that opened the tomb (presumably the tomb/coffin
in the skull castle rather than the Tomb of Forever).
As Ryan grasped the hovering key, an image projected by the key showed an eclipse, then a horde of monsters reaching toward the ceiling of a
hellish underground tomb within the Shadow
World, causing Ryan to declare, "Oh no."
As Ryan called the Aquabase telling the others of Bansheera's plan to resurrect all the demons from the Shadow
World, his signal was lost before he could say when it would happen,
and Bansheera flew down into the tomb in monster form.
Saying no one would stop the ceremony, Bansheera wrapped her tendrils around Ryan,
making him drop the Golden Key which she
then picked up.
Batlings carried the
unconscious Ryan through the skull castle
and locked him up on Bansheera's orders.
Chained between two pillars, Ryan was guarded by
Batlings in the same chamber where the
skeletal Shadow World coffin dwelled.
When Ryan's legs buckled from weakness, a Batling guard made him stand again.
Finding Ryan held captive, Carter quickly beat up his two Batling guards and unlocked his chains with a

As Carter planned for
the both of them to escape and then form a plan to stop Bansheera, they heard her nearby; Ryan
pretended to still be chained, and Carter hid
in a nearby sarcophagus.
Hearing a Morpher beep from within the nearby
sarcophagus after she'd landed to taunt Ryan, Bansheera noted they had a visitor, at which
point Ryan sprung free and kicked her; Carter
lunged out as well, kicking her aside.
As Batlings flooded
in, Bansheera noted the two were outnumbered
by a million to one, but they morphed and began fighting.
Overpowered, Carter and

once the circle was complete, the ceremony could begin, at which point,
Bansheera said, no one - not even the two of
them - would be able to stop her.
That said, Bansheera
shot two beams from her hand, sending both Carter and Ryan flying out of the skull castle.
As the eclipse began, the Omega Megazord prepared to place the sixth
and final stone around the skull castle
downtown, but it was interrupted by blasts from Carter and Ryan on the Red
Mobile Armored Vehicle.
Circling around, the duo fired together multiple
times, and the Omega Megazord returned
fire with a cannon; they managed to dodge the blasts, although one shot
nicked the Mobile Armored Vehicle.
As the Omega
Megazord went to place the last stone, Carter decided there was only one thing they could
do to stop it, and Ryan agreed.
Leaping at the last minute, Ryan and Carter ejected as the Red
Mobile Armored Vehicle slammed into the Omega Megazord's back with a large
explosion, making the torso completely explode.
Despite the two Rangers' efforts, however, the stone fell into
place, completing the circle.
Upon meeting up downtown, Dana hugged Ryan, and the four teens morphed
to raid the skull castle with Carter and Ryan.
Nearly pulled into the Shadow World pit by a hanging Bansheera, Carter
shouted to close the lid, but Ryan and the others refused to close it
Just then, Diabolico's spirit severed Bansheera's tendrils, and she and Diabolico both plunged into the Shadow World below.
After the Rangers
had pulled Carter up with a rope, Ryan turned

As the Rangers, Mitchell, and Miss Fairweather watched the skull castle disintegrate, Ryan smiled at Carter.
Another day in the park, the five teens stood facing Ryan and Mitchell as they returned their Morphers, although Ryan kept his.
Dana beamed that they
finally had time to be a normal family, and Ryan smiled that it sounded
great to him.

Ryan and Dana looked to Carter, and as he dashed off followed by Chad and Kelsey, the two
siblings looked at each other and followed as Dana nodded to Ryan.
