Opening Credits, Version #3

Revisiting Power Rangers compares, frame-by-frame, the original airings of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (which ran on Fox Kids in 1993) with the reversioned airings (which ran on ABC Kids in 2010), seeking to document any striking visual differences between the two.

For the most part, it is left to the fan to form their own personal opinions on this reversioning.

Fade in as astronauts open a space dumpster and lights swirl out. Rita Repulsa rises up and stretches in her space dumpster. Rita talks to her left as her minions stand about. Rita and her minions turn to their right, as the camera pans sharply up to the Earth in the sky.

Original: Rita’s space dumpster is located on a rogue planetoid near the Earth. It is opened under a cloudy daytime sky. The camera slowly pans upward toward Earth.

Reversion: Rita’s space dumpster is located on the Moon. It is opened under a clear, star-filled, night sky. The video pauses after Rita emerges, with Rita cut-out of the background and purple lighting strikes. The camera quickly pans upward toward Earth.

Reversion: Alpha turns a dial and moves slight left while continuing to man the console.

Five stunned teens turn to electrical colored light as they teleport out of the Juice Bar. Five teens land in Command Center as teleport color and static ceases being emitted by columns. Close up on Zack’s belt region as his Power Morpher appears amid flashy effects. Jason looks forward as white horizontal electricity changes him into the Red Ranger.

Original: Shot of stunned teens is from a previous, un-aired version of Day of the Dumpster.

Reversion: Shot of stunned teens is from the final, aired version of Day of the Dumpster. A wisp of light flows between the teens from our left to right as they begin to teleport.

Megazord rises up in formation. MMPR logo fully forms and is struck by lightning.
