Zyu2 Footage Guide

Zyu2 is a term used by Power Rangers fans to refer to the footage that was filmed in Japan exclusively for use by Saban Entertainment after the completion of the original 40 episodes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

This guide is meant to showcase the available Zyu2 footage (i.e. that which was adapted and used during MMPR) as, unlike other adapted footage, the original source footage is unavailable.

The clips are grouped together in their original “episodic” chunks (as far as we know based on how they were utilized during MMPR) and may have been ordered or re-ordered in such a way to hopefully show the originally intended “episodic” plots. Accordingly, any grouping or ordering of clips in this guide should not be taken as an “official” interpretation.

For more information on Zyu2, including the theory on its inception, check out the essay covering Zyu2.

Thanks to MMPR Second Unit Director & Stunt Choreographer Jeff Pruitt for providing some of the unused-in-Power Rangers footage contained in this guide.
